I don't see the problem. He gave her advice on the car problem didn't he? That is what her letter was about wasn't it? it is what she opened with after all.

Yup, the implication is, her husband is not a very good mechanic.
No I can see the problem he made. He didn't ask her the obvious question that you wouldn't have to ask a bloke - is there petrol in the tank, check the fuel guage. Common assumption made by chicks when a car splutters and dies, it must be broken. doh.

1. Doesn't "E" mean "enough" re: fuel?
