Was thinking about putting together a website containing places to ride on top of a google map.

Come up with a better way to get submissions of places is probably my first thought

Would it be possible to have visitor be able to place markings on the map as well? Would save having to enter the data points - not sure if thats a good idea or even possible just throwing it out there.

That's what I'm trying to figure out at the moment.

I think having a map would be better as it would be much easier to filter content by relevance

i.e. you can zoom on your area and see exactly what is close to you and what isn't

I think if you have a google account you might be able to edit the map. I would have liked to make it available anonymously as well but that might be a limitation of the system
