Good show lots of Brit bikes also a large selection of early Japanese models, sounds like they made a profit over the two days so could be a regular event, just needs more dirt bikes{trials, speedway, enduro, MX} and 70-80's road bikes.

Completely agree! It was a good show with some genuinely rare bikes. The Japs and Yanks would be Gobsmacked to see what NZ has and how relatively cheap classics are here!
Loved the wee Honda 50R! Yours for about $7k!

Had a chat with Danny from Botany Honda about why the RC30 was worth more than the RC45 all good fun, most don't know a real classic when they see one.

I didn't quite figure that one out, was it a brand new replica or a reworked 1959 which it seemed to be advertised as?
Here are my pics of the show, I had many that were very fuzzy as I turned my flash off but enjoy anyway!
I may well be wrong about some of these bikes so don't quote me!
1, I think it goes, CL175, CD175 and not sure.
2, The Honda 50 DOHC Cafe Racer advertised as 1959 but looked spankers to me
3, The 3 Hondas are cb's 360, 500/4 and 750/4
5, as far as I know is an SR500 race bike. I talked extensively to the owner but not about his bike, more about how he still races it. Well done, him!

7 & 8, The mean as V Max.
9, A selection of the race machines on display, I got yakking to the owner of the Desmo who had other bikes there as well.
10, A Honda GB cafe racer with a good selection of chrome polish and LED's
11, My wifes head appears to dwarf an extensively airbrushed Vespa, one of 3 in a small group

The Honda was a 350 not the later 360 with the 500 and 750 fours. The 50R is a brand new replica which they do actually race in Japan. I think the CL was a 250 and the blue race bike is a TT500 not the SR motor. I talked to him about it at Hampton Downs last time.

13, An Ariel 500 sq 4
14, An Exselsior with handy wooden sidecar
15, This Norton appeared to be absolutely dripping with chrome almost like terminator 2
16, RG500 which was the winner of best Post Classic [I think?]
17, This Ducati Elite was better than new and won a special prize that I couldn't hear but it is lovely!
18, This SF Laverda won 3 prizes and was Best in show [I think?]

Last 2.
19, A superb example of a Triton complete with engraving and exceptional attention to detail.
20, A 1986 GSXR1100 that won 2nd best Suzuki and has done less than 1500 km. Has been pampered obviously as it is in perfect condition.

I really enjoyed the show, lots of primo rides on display, was a real feast for the eyes!
Even the car park was another show display, guys turned up on all sorts of neat things and there were roaming gangs of droolers patrolling up and down the lines. I had a few people ask me to start up the KJR, which was great because it made a change in sound track from the air cooled twins that were spluttering and farting about all day ;)
Not sure if I saw any KB members there, no idea what any of you look like.
I got a few nice snaps and I will throw them up when I get round to draining the camera. My favourite was the nicely modified Thruxton near the main enterance, not a classic, but just too nice to pass up.

Those are a modern replica, Shed Five in Auckland used to sell the roadgoing version of the Dream 50 with lights and speedo. That 50R is very similar in most respects except it looks to have a much bigger head on it. Bet it would be a hoot to fang around a track.
I saw your 750, very nice! :2thumbsup

Was that the red Thrux from AMPS that had the big Ohlins front end on it and a 16" motard wheel, twin high Arrow pipes? Christ that thing looked like a riot.
