after starting this thread (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/151162-A-thanks-to-Damon-at-Cycleworks), i started thinking it may be a good idea to start this thread.

What "good bastard" places do you go to, not becuase you have to, but becuase you choose to.
is it the entire company or just a couple of people that make it easier to part with your hard earned cash.
maybe its a place you go to talk about getto mods you could do and what to look out for while doing them.

my list is simple, havent been riding long, but as a customer, i'm picky as how i'm treated.
lets refrain from listing bad experiences.

cycleworks, upper hutt - damon. if you havent meet him, you should.
TSS red baron, lower hutt - there are plenty of people who can help.
hyosung motors, auckland - great people to talk to, knowledgable and helpful. If other stores in your area cant find the parts you need, these guys are well worth asking.

"The Bolt Shop" in Glenfield, Auckland. They have always had every kind of bolt I needed, and knew all about them, their construction materials and their limits.

"Top Catch" in Clevedon.
Guy behind the counter is always happy.
I always ask him what's working.
He always tells me what's working for him.
I always buy it,,,when I can afford it.
It always works every time, never failed yet.
Bloody good bastard.:niceone:

All the bike shops in Palmy seem to be friendly places. Guess that when you have dollars to spend it is in their best interest to part you from it. But good on them for making it a pleasure to spend money.

Far as other "regular" shops go, I try to support the little guys by not going to the chain stores. Especially when needing coffee as the big names usually provide faintly coloured warm milk.

TSS Red Baron in Lower Hutt. Stew the owner is a top bloke. Jimmy and Susan in sales are helpful and friendly, as are Dom, Max and George in parts. Not many would be more knowledgable in parts than Andrew Lawrence, and he's a GC to boot. The workshop boys are great. Awesome shop with a huge range of gear and open 7 days, what more could you ask for.

I didn't know that you can mute the annoying female voice that ommits from the computer at the self serve lane.
Older checkout supervisors dont like it and wont point out that option.
Big :woohoo: to the under paid....unbeatable service.

The parts/gear dept. of Red Baron Auckland. The servicing and sales side i'm not so keen on but the guys upstairs always seem to do as much as they can to help you get the bit you need. I'll buy from them when I can but due to current finantial fun (student) I often have to find the cheapest version I can find, which isn't there sometimes
