They are both good, different mounting ideas & each has it's own foibles.

Have you thought about goggles with a built in camera?

I have been playing around with a scuba mask with built in camera & it's pretty good. Not as good as my go pro but then I have never been diving with it.

I have been impressed and very happy with the Replay HD.

I chose it over the GoPro range because of its form and the ease of mounting. Pics look pretty good to me.

Check a few out if'n ya want...you can crank the definition up to full HD and full screen it for best illustration of the camera's capabilities.

If your not in a hurry, it might be worth waiting a bit to see whats coming & if the likes of GoPro & Contour have to step up their game with the soon to be entrance from Sony & LG into the "action cam" market.
Sony for one is speculated to bring high speed (60fps) 1080p recording to the market with 120fps 720p & of-course Sony's Steady-cam tech, but only time will tell prediction true or not. Either way with Sony's success in the camcorder market & their expertise in making sensors (the sort the others use) coupled with the carl zeiss lens (as always) they just might bring a formidable opposition to market & I'd say LG will make a good go of it too.

Seen a few people raving about the liquid image google cam. There are plenty of examples on youtube. I use the gopro HD 2. Its cool and can be used for many different things, not just riding. Only downside is the fogging when its really cold. Like Taupo in winter...

You can also use the open back for the case, I don't get fogging in any weather or temp, plus it makes the bike sound better.

I've got a replay XD, I really like it, but the battery is a bit limited.

Comes with heaps of extras, car charger lots of mounts.

I have also got the Replay and think its an excellent package. I like the low profile then its on the helmet and it takes pretty good video.

I did notice on the Replay XD americain site there is an external power harness for it witch you could set up to run off a lipo battery in a pack to increase the run time. Not sure if the kiwi distributer has it or can get it tho

I've owned a GoPro HD for quite some time now, and am still exceptionally happy with it. The Version 2 looks tempting, so I can do PIP showing ahead and behind at the same time.

What ever you go for, check out high resolution sample footage of whatever you're looking at and see if you can see any wobbly/ripple effects when going over rough terrain etc. When viewed on large HD TV's it'll look even worse. The early Contour HD's were atrocious. Not sure what their current offering is like, but I like their features like built in GPS.

Have a Contour HD and it's great. The three qualities that make it great are the laser alignment, they stick out off your head a lot less and the on off slide switch makes it much easier to be sure you were only turning the camera off or on as opposed to one button that does both functions alternately.

My current one has taken a fair beating and will be due for replacement soon.

Given the current offerings would probably consider a Gopro 2 or Contour+

I love my GoPro HD thinking of up grading to Hero2 has a few more features. there are a lot of new accessories like new under water lens remote etc....

The GP2 is great, but to be honest I've given up, the amount of time to edit something half way useful is an issue and if you don't leave the camera on you miss the good bits :).

Yup, from any electronic package, dried seaweed or muchrooms etc. I get mine from packets of rice crackers.....

I have sealed the open door on my go pro with gaffa tape so it is still splash proof but I get good sound & minimal fogging. I also have some self adhesive foam under the latch to minimise the clicking noise.

I think they're about $499. I got mine when the introductory special was on for $399. I bought it via the website. They were very helpful when I had a few questions early on.
