There seems to be quite a few rumours floating around about the NZSBK class and who is riding what. Sounds like there is a few brand swaps and it looks like the class is gonna be stacked!!

Andrew Stroud
Sloan Frost
Nick Cole
Craig Shirriffs
James Smith
Hayden Fitzgerald
Ryan Hampton
Scott Moir
John Ross
Dennis Charlett
Glen Skatchel

Looking forward to seeing the upgrades... The licence cost wont effect the list I wrote but maybe club day riders. Would be good if clubs do what PMCC did and actually make the local round a points scoring round for their club series

Maybe Deano, when the nats come around and the guys that usually only do club days and just purchased a club licence will have even more reason to not ride a national event.

You summed it up completely what I was refering to. Riders that want to have a go or only do there local round will suffer. People that are in for the series wont matter to them.
Like you said Choppa, your list wont be effected at all, and looks like an interesting season ahead.

Most bikes this year have traction control. Pretty much dont need to worry about suspension or tyres you just open the throttle brake and turn so its gonna be close!

Its not going to happen, too many people still picking up the costs. On a related subject I hope its not a forlorn hope that if any bikes are borrowed to go racing with that they are returned in a condition better than when loaned and that the owners are properly remunerated.Theres at least a couple of horror stories from last season. There are (like in all sports ) and for want of a better pc expression ''a number of niggers in the woodpile" .

To her credit though she was actually pretty fast, faster than 95% of the riders in New Zealand and I think it was her first year riding a motorcycle. I would like to have that ability to throw caution to the wind to push myself to the ragged edge as she does. She is apparently a world class skier as well

Agreed, Gaz. For all the knocking copped both on and off track, she was on a steep learning curve and actually had the guts to step out of comfy cushy NZ unlike some other riders who could/should have. Potential is useless without determination.

Don't say apparently, unless you are being tongue in cheek. Search FISA and find out how 'world class' she was as a skiier.
I did, you will find exactly the same data as her 'successful' motorcycle racing career.
I for one think what she is doing is a disaster for everyone concerned. Riders of her experience and ability have no business being on Superbikes or Superstock bikes, whatever their reasons. It puts everyone in danger and we really should not be making light of it given the recent history of serious accidents in NZ.
If she had spent any time at all on small bikes first, learning something, then she might have developed a foundation of skill, because she isn't actually half bad, just not half good. If she was after the marketing exposure almost any class would have suited that purpose.
She is so lucky she hasn't hurt herself or others in the process.

I actually admired her determination, self-promotion and complete lack of fear but yeah.......walk before you run. In my opinion though, it's more of an issue with our complete lack of race-license "testing" than anything else. Any Tom, Dick or Sally can pretty much jump on the starting grid of an NZ superbike race.

You are too perceptive for your own good. OK, I certainly admired her 'skills' off the track more than those on the track. All anyone could talk about over nationals in 2010 I think it was, was her blowing up bikes, crashing, having everyone run around after her and that she was a champion skiier. So I looked her up to check it out for myself. A handful of FISA starts only in Poland and Slovakia, mostly DNF's.

Yes, that is what I was getting at, but in addition, the gung-ho attitude that so many riders seem to have that they can jump on 600's or 1000cc racebikes and be Valentino Rossi or Troy Baliss immediately. So many do not appreciate the skill needed to race at that level, rather than just ride around the race track that is. So they go out, go slow or crash. Any rider who is at the top of those classes has done an apprentiship of some kind in smaller bikes or MX or the like. The consequences are too high. I just don't get it. I don't pretend to be any champion rider, but I know how to race and race reasonably fast for someone my age and lack of regular tracktime, and I have been doing it since 1987, but I would not even consider trying to race 600's let alone Superbikesl How anyone can consider it as their first racebike is simply beyond me.

Same one as I can tell that she left under a cloud. There are pictures on the net of plenty of her wrecks, one had the steering head snapped off and the other looked like a bloody paper weight. It's a funny old world. Any normal racer with her record would either be in traction or recognised as a muppet and told to bugger off. I think this video holds the secret to her success. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPVyJ0KBtl0

Yes it is the same team was MSS/Colchester kawasaki..now MSS/Bathams kawasaki. Owned by Nick Morgan a real good bastard. I was surprised she got back in there after destroying everything she touched first time around. Im sure the publicity/hype of having her around was some reason for the return, as it was a while before she was allowed to ride anything in anger................... then surprise...... another wreck! Got a pick on my FB of her doing a stoppie...to avoid rear-ending her team mate recently (will try to link it)
I gather by some of the comments from Nick on FB recently his patience is all used up. The team have also had some problems with other riders recently and now have Paul Bird Racing trying to steal the No1 kawasaki team crown in BSB.
