Cool photos Kai, you going to make a trailer like the one in the photos too?
Yip, I have already welded up the frame/trailer chassis and got the suspension on, drawbar etc. The hold back now is the 17" rims I bought.. murphys law that the center hole has a bloody little lip on it that is stopping it going onto the hub fully. Tried to get the dremel out to grind it off but the alloy is so soft that the dremel bit gets clogged up in 5 seconds. must think of a smarter way to get rid of the lip then can finish the trailer and tow the bike to Dunedin for some real work on it!
If he did he'd only crash it
Well I wouldn't let my dad tow it over the Kaimais anyway...

Yip got access to lathes at phils farm.. infact I think I rested the wheel on the lathe while I used the dremel.. makes a good work bench.

good idea.. might just do that

Don't wanna spend cash... but maybe I'll do that one day. Might try and figure out how to do it on a lathe myself. And you wouldn't know anythings been touched with the dremel, the little lip/ridge is like half a mm must be for a center cap to click onto, the dremel touches it, clogs up instantly and then just basically polishes the wheel.. fuckn thing. I just want it gone so the wheels go on the hubs and get this trailer finished.

Successful day of testing yesterday at Ruapuana, weather was great and some pretty sweet cars out there as well.
Warwick dragged his bucket out and after dripping some oil onto his rear wheel proceeded to try and lap me on the old GN.. fuckn thing. It does look like fun tho..
Had stayed up til about 2.30am the previous night chucking the new master cyl in, plumbing up the lines, checking the bike over, lock wiring all the nuts n bolts up, loctiting and giving it a basic setup suspension and brake bias wise etc etc.. takes longer than you think in the dark by yourself hehe.
I basically set the bike up neutral, front and rear shock were setup the same (identical shocks) and brake balance 50/50 or near enough. The emergency hand brake is still a no go so will replace the hand master cyl or rebuild if cost effective. (easier to buy new master cylinders for foot brake than rebuild em in future..)
Went out on the track - for some reason the elbow fittings on my front calipers are in a different position after the rebuild, so the brake lines were getting in the way of the fairing and getting dangerously close to the ground - So I left main fairing off for the testing.
Felt great, didn't bother checking tyre pressures as I didn't have a gauge on me.. so they are probably around the 15-20psi mark. But the bike was nice, brakes nice and in a straight line and felt positive, suspension was very compliant and the bike tracked along nicely - felt confident on it. with the chair in the air something was scraping on the ground so maybe need to firm up the shocks a bit - that or the chair was going up higher than normal - different swinger for the day.
All 'n all a good day and happy with the bike again.. all the work put into it has at the least resolved the snaking under brakes issue.. and it may even increase the lap times. Still pushes the front a bit going through right handers, lefts are fine. Could be suspension setup, the really old front tyre vs new rear or the swinger since we had no front fairing he had no forward hand hold for the right handers. More work to be done, time to check the motor over and gear box, and tidy up a few things around the bike as much as possible. Ideally strip it right down, blast the frame, reassemble it and rewire it. But that is impossible with the bike in chch and me in Dunedin. will see what I can do before first round of KOL - but happy where its at now, I could happily go out and race it as is. But will carry on improving and maintaining it.

This outfit is extremely good value.
It is currently the best entry level sidecar for sale in NZ for a number of reasons, but mainly because it has recently been put together with very close attention to detail.
All it will need for the next two seasons is petrol.
It will also be very reliable due to having all sub assemblies overhauled as it was rebuilt.
Every bolt on it is either a nyloc, tie wired, split pinned or loctite'd.
I was closley associated with the rebuild & gave it final tech inspection & sign off.
If you want cheap reliable sidecar racing, this is the outfit for you.
There is no set up changes required for different tracks like some more advanced chassis, its just jump on & ride.
Paint it in your style & come racing!!!
(I am aware that the only reason it this outfit is for sale is that a deal has come up on another bike that is almost too good to be true)

This list of spares it comes with is huge and includes
2 x engines (Sidecar modified sumps and oil return lines etc)
a set of standard carbs
fairing seat mould
3 x tyres 2 slicks and a wet I think
1 x brandnew front brake disc
custom alloy airbox
full set of used but still good bearings
4 or 5 sets of carb jets
brake calipers
clutch slave cylinder newly rebuilt
clutch master cylinder
brake master cylinder
full gasket set
brake pads
A full clutch set which looks to be an aftermarket slipper clutch.
A set of front springs.
Various shims, valves, bearings etc.
+ heaps more
There are enough spares to keep this sidecar going forever.
I would post pictures, but i have so many infractions it takes me 45mins just to turn my computer on.
I forgot the new steering dampner.
Nononono.
Holy fuck!!! Gordy's not doing that just for fun is he?
So thats what Gordy gets up to in his spare time :bleh:

The bike is a lightly crashed GSX1135ef which I only bought for the motor.
Drew is taking the rest if he can get it to the have a go day for me.
Theres a thought, youre not bringing an empty van to the have a goat day to get as many free rides as you want this weekend are you? Truck racing too!!
Afraid not. Got other plans for the weekend.

Weather was ok for HAGD, but shit for Sunday racing. There were up to 24 machines on the track in our early races!!!!! The racing was fantastic, and the spectators loved it!!
How did you go on the windle Dave? lovin' it?
He had a few issues with fuel pressure etc. But still got out most times.
Anyone hand over some cash money for your bike Gordie?
No one was uber quick enough to buy it....... Although...... Darren Pate rode it in the wet on slicks and almost beat Gordy on the BMW!!! Was a great watch!
Break any lap records Drewski?
Ummmm..... not quite..... But broke something else, namely a poor defenceless swinger at the HAGD and his own rig today whilst leading the last race..... He can fill in the gaps..... :shifty::shifty::shifty::nono::whistle::facepalm: Let's say he owes some piss..... :headbang::niceone:

Yip, turning it on for the crowd too much and fucked it up.
With a bit of a lead on the other guys, we slowed down to do some coll skids. Off line coming onto the start finish straight I didn't realise how much slipperier it was gonna be. Lit it up and the back just kept coming round. When the chair wheel lifted I knew we were in the shit and over it came. The bike rode me for a while, but luckily as it was doing that it turned itself back around so it came back down on it's wheels without doing fuck all damage.
Could have ridden it back to the pits if the brake lever hadn't twisted round and was fouling on the body work.
My step brother falling off was kinda weird. We'd come out of the sweeper fairly gently to give him time to sit up and start hanging on. I opened it up to go past Gordie who was taking Jo for a hoon, when I looked down to see if he was all good, he wasn't there. His glove was slipping off he said, and I dunno if he was trying to get it back on or what, but the result was tumbling down the track beside a rather perplexed looking Gordie.

Hi,
I am in possession of 2 x 500cc Krauser engines and soon to be in possession of a set of ADM Yamaha crankcases.
So here it is.
Krauser engine No.1 is complete and running. Have had running on a test bench. It is worn but comes with the following.
Standard crankshafts
ARCO gearbox with a variety of ratio's
3YL TZ250 cylinders
Millett Racing exhausts
38mm flatslide Delorto's.
Everything to completely rebuild. Pistons, rods, crankpins, main bearings including the Split type, crankcases seals, gaskets, etc
Krauser No.2
This engine is in pieces and I will be as honest as possible.
It had a conrod failure on No.4. There is evidence it was repaired previous to this failure. It has been repaired but the cases were welded without a mandrel. I have machined up a mandrel out of 4140 which will allow the cases to be stress relieved. So needless to say work is required
This engine is No.80 and according to Charlie from ADM it is or could be the last Krauser made.
It also has an arco gearbox and everthing as listed with the first engine.
Other spares include
- Complete set of ADM crankshafts for Krauser fitment (Perfect Condition)
- Complete set of TZ500 standard crankshafts. (Repairs required)
- 20 spare 3YL TZ250 cylinders
- 4 spare 4DP TZ250 cylinders
- 4 Brand new heads
- Complete set of jets, needles, tuning data etc etc
- About 5 spare ignitions. (I have never tested these units)
These are the things I think are most relevant. I have boxes of TZ500 gearbox components, shafts, selectors, clutches, water pumps just everythin you can imagine.
The ADM cases are to replace the damaged Krauser cases. They are in perfect condition however: They use 3LC TZ250 cylinders for which I have no spares. Only the 4 which come with it.
These engines are for sale in Australia but I will ship world wide.
I may be willing to sell engines separetly but spares will vary. I dont want to end up with 80% of an engine and be unable to complete as I think we all know how hard some components are to find.
email me at
glen.west@centennialcoal.com.au for any more detail. I do have a video of one engine running on the test bench.
I will get some photo's together of all the engines and spares and email to interested parties.
Steve should really get these to put in Pinky

All the crash testing lately has got to be improving sidecar design in general. Weve doing more than Volvo at the moment.
Next time if you put as much thought into this as you did in your choice of wets or slicks then maybe you wouldn't have been making this calculation at all?No effort was required to make the choice. With no spare rear rim, it was too much effort to change to wets.

Hey Kai, It looks like the NI nat rounds ( for sidecars ) will be the first 2 rounds of the tri series & then if you want to do Wangas you can, & then the 2 SI rounds after xmas, read your newsletter that came out yesterday. It means those you want to go to Aussie in March doesnt take numbers away from Nats. If you are coming up to Barry Sheene ( expecting at least 25 modern sidecars ) then you could leave bike up here, as first round of nats would be Hampton.

Hi All
As there is a fair amount of discussion on other public forums re the Nationals etc this is how it is:
Barry Sheene Hampton Oct 26/27
Suzuki Series Round 1 Nationals (FOR SIDECARS ONLY) Dec 7/8
Suzuki Series Round 2 Nationals (FOR SIDECARS ONLY) Dec 14/15
Wanganui Dec 26
Chch NZSBK Nationals Rnd 1 (RND 3 FOR SIDECARS) Jan 4/5
Timaru NZSBK Nationals Rnd 2 (RND 3 FOR SIDECARS) Jan 11/12
Barry Sheene Sydney March 22/23 2014
They will be running North Island Rounds of the NZSBK Nationals in March at which sidecars are welcome at all or some of these. This is yet to be decided.
This should enable everyone to race both in the NZ Nationals and Internationally if they so wish.
Alot of thought went into this and if you are unhappy with the decision for whatever reason maybe you should speak directly to the President and air your concerns or join the NZSRA so you can keep up to date.
I hope this clarifies it.

For sale is my MR Equipe F2 running a GSXR 600 K7. This outfit was built in 2005 and first raced in 2006. I am the second owner. This is a really well sorted outfit and will be a championship winner for someone just not me as I am crap driver! It has been maintained regardless of cost., everything is fitted well and simple to work on. The outfit benefits from:
Good strong GSXR standard engine in good order.
Yoshimura ECU
Flatshifter Allows clutchless up and downshifting has a throttle blipper fitted for the downshift
TT Tank with MRE fitted baffle tank inside
Akrapovic exhaust
6 Wheels (3 slicks, 3 wets) both sets of tyres brand new in March, done one race each.
Latest spec front forks (with adjustable trail) fitted at start of year.
Brand new swinging arm
Carbon Kevlar main fairing and wheel arch, built by Jason Miller at start of this year, includes the fixed ducting up to the LCR airbox
Selection of Front & Rear Sprockets
The outfit has just been jig checked by Mike and has been given a clean bill of health. He knows the outfit very well and will answer any questions on it.
This machine can also come with a competitive spares package depending on the deal, please see other listing for engines.
I am happy to send abroad and assist with export if required shipping at cost of buyer! Location is currently Market Harborough, Leicestershire, UK.

It was the last left at Kate's cottage, the turn at the top of straight before Creg-Ny-Baa.
Was a big hit, lucky they didn't go over, and a fast place to do it...

Didn't think this would get to 300 pages, although 1/2 i guess is about sex etc, Anyway onto sidecars again.<br> For the Barry Sheene we have 12 confirmed sidecars from Aussie, 2 F1s inc Shane Souter, who used to do worlds & features in one of the worst sidecar crashes i have ever seen. 6 F2s inc 3 top ones, plus the all girl team are coming to battle Pinky, & 4 posties of which 2 will most certenly go into the modern feild, & the other 2 into the classics ( they are a Honda 4 and a Kawasaki triple ). so with 10 sidecars in the modern feild, that leaves room for 20 kiwi bikes, and i reckon we will be very close on that number, what a sight to see about 30 sidecars on the grid.
