must be a hard ride though as he seems to have a gammy knee and a whining shoulder:killingme
but yeah beaut ride, i'd buy one over the 530 if i could.

I have one here in Australia and I love it, had no dramas at all, gos really well and handles good to.
I would definitely buy another one, a few little things make a big difference to to them for not a lot of money also

My 10c, not that I own one but I do own a 450 EXC. TE 630 is more comparable with the 690/640. Durable, longer service intervals, longer range comfort bike but still very capable off road. Not as light as the 450EXC/TE 530's etc. Seems for the price they should definitely be on the test ride list if considering anything from a KLR/DR to a 690 though closer to a 690 in paper based specs. While I'm a KTM fan they look like a better value for money proposition as a one up adv bike than the 690.
One key thing I've heard is the they have wider ratio 6 speed box than the 690. Not sure that important given power available but great if you have mechanical sympathy yet want a properly low 1st.

The main two factors that swung me to the 630 over the 690
$13400 against $18000 and a sixth gear that is a true overdrive.
Will be putting some aftermarket pipes and a larger fuel tank on it before next years Dusty Butt ride , but other than that i love it.
Still eats tires though

:
Don't forget the cheaper rego - 630 is actually under 600cc.

With winter almost half gone , been looking at adv type bikes again . Had bugger all spare time lately. Seen a husky te630 2012 for 11k (done 250km) , Seems alot of bike compared to std dr650. Big step price wise up to a 690 at $18k. Sounds like I have nothing to worry about reliability wise then on the husky.

11K sounds like a good deal.
Not sure you quite get DR650 levels of reliability on the Husky though, I think the 610's usually need a camchain about every 20K km, not sure on the 630 but it's a similar motor. The internets will know, there is a big thread on these in the Oz section on ADV I think.

yea, anything can break down, what the parts supply like?
Don't care about the price, no matter what you own the parts for what you own suddenly seem expensive compared to others, but are the parts easy or quick to get?

Not defensive, nothing to be defensive about, really just agreeing and wondering what the huski bit's supply is like.. I don't know who supplies them here, though I do know one other local owner of a Husky TE610
Now you must know the reliability of a DR has no meaning to me any more.... except if I was to worry about J's one :sweatdrop

Husquvarna are owned by BMW so should be part of that network.

The only thing I think they miss out on is not having a Cush drive in the rear wheel.
I have a not had to buy a spare part as yet , but the bottom end is te610 and the top end te510 so I think parts won't be an issue, none of my friends have needed anything either.
A JD fuel tuner makes a huge difference to performance as they are very lean stock, that and a seat concepts seat.

I think you will find they are part of the Triumph NZ stable & have been since the scooter company owned them. I'd assume that parts & warranty backup is to the same standard as it is for Triumph's & the other brands imported by Triumph NZ. :dodge:

Parts that i have needed for my 510 have generally always been in stock. Needed a spacer for the instrument cluster on the TE ( bolt must have come loose and fallen out ) and they had to order that ex overseas as i expected. Took 2 1/2 weeks to arrive which is about the same waiting time as i have experienced with the japanese bikes.
