So... for the third time in my working life, I'm without a job again thanks to a restructuring.
and on the open market for whomsoever is desirous of my many talents.
Send me a pm if you've got any ideas.
I'm originally a graphic designer, who switched to photolithography and photographic retouching before managing studios and design companies.
More recently I've moved to project management work.
I hope my guardian angels are shining on me and that this is a short break...
PM me for my CV if you know of anything or can help.
Cheers
Simon

Feel for you Riffer. Know what that feels like. Got made redundant in my first job. I felt like I had been sacked. Took me years to get over. This is one reason that I love working for myself. Hard work but I'll never make myself redundant. Something you might think about is going freelance. Hard work but might be worth it.

Sorry to hear that mate. Been there, and it's not nice. Don't know whether its worse when unemployment's high (harder to get a job, but at least you feel you've got company) or the reverse (easier to find a new job, but aful lonesome).
Hope you negotiated a good payout.

Sorry to hear that Riffer. Been there twice now, and it was not a nice feeling. I would have felt better being fired (incompetence - drunk - public indecency etc) rather than "You are surplus to requirements"
Good time to be looking though. Best of luck

My sympathies too, I've been made redundant twice and also fired a couple of times too (once was constructive dismissal, they didn't replace me) and you start to question "why me?" It is hard to find work when you are unemployed even if you are highly skilled, no one will deny that, but keep trying. I ended up going freelance and it's the best move I've ever made. Plenty of time for riding, plenty of time for living - and after only THREE YEARS I am actually starting to make some money - ha ha!
And as for your comment, Winja, trust me, most women wish guys would leave their helmets on too! Sure, I may look better with a helmet on, but not every woman can be tarred with the same brush!

That's bad news mate. Been there a couple of times. Unfortunately seems to be the way of the world at the moment.
Don't forget to bookmark the 'Stuff' job website, and get your CV out to all the agencies for your area of work.
You'll just have to spend a bit of time polishing up that Suzuki.

Just saw this, sorry to hear Si. Played that game & it sucks.
But as someone said, perfect job climate to be looking for a job.
Just remember confidence in the interview. You are currently contracting, not unemployed.
Good luck.
