I'll be there with my push bike down in Queen Street and will join you guys briefly on one wheel while you ride through the CBD. I'll have to go to motomail to shop for some cool clothes just for the occasion.

Wana meet up and have a feed in town in the middle of it all?

Hey guys... Sorry to burst some bubbles... Sam and I are "unconfirmed" at this time. We are both keen to come... but from the looks of things at the mo' I'll be putting in a 60+ hour week next week :( so I dunno if I'll have the energy to get my A into G and come along... Also depends on if Sam gets her Rego next week or not...

I will confirm closer to the date

as posted in the first post its under development but no-one is submitting any other idea's

at this stage we leave MT Albert BP at around 8, go up through the side of westy suburbs to get to then Westgate centre, down past whenuapai, into albany then up to brownsbay. follow east coast road till we get to milford and then go down hurstmere? basically down when all the bars are in taka.
then over the bridge and off into fanshawe. cos you cant get onto queen st going south we would cut up one road to get us onto it (like albert)
then up queen and upper queen. down ian mckinion and onto dominion road. all the way down dominion road then right onto mt albert road, down owairaka then down richardson road (I think it is) over the tracks and through an undescribed selection of roads to my house in MT Albert for food and beer. although I realized its going to be fucken cold at that time of night.

BYO? ......
yessir pls.
It appears to be timed with the poorest point in the year for me (just paid off that $400 fine etc)

Meeting points.
1) BP Mt Albert
2) Shell WestGate
3) Albany MegaCentre Carpark (Outside BK)
4) Browns Bay Carpark by the pizza place formerly known as pizza hut
5) Takapuna (on the beach carparks, public toilets) or Berkley carpark and just bypass barrier arm
6) Dominion Road Foodtown
7) BP Mt Albert

Those are the best places me-reckons, but we dont need to stop at them all.

Im thinking about possibly shortening the ride justsomeguy, the westie part of if is mighty confusing and even I nearly went the wrong way even though its just one road.
I was planning on getting onto great north and just following it as it changes into swanson and dick burke (dick burke? I forget) then off on westgate, but to speed it up we could go straight up the North Western to Westgate and then along.
that would cut about 10km I guess? but It would be much faster.

what is traffic like on the shore at 8-9pm on a friday?

Don Buck Road....

Mate I know the road you are talking about...
Don Buck Road is a really nice road... has a few nice twistie bits in it...
It does take us straight up to Westgate...

Leave that part in.... maybe we can bypass Henderson main drag (shops and heaps of lights and interesting speed humps) and go around it... its just a little detour but we then end up back on the route again..

we have just had an offer.

some of our fellow KB'rs are having a drink in albany around the time we will be passing.

we could organise the ride to go there for a 'hello' and a drink if you feel so inclined but I wont be touching anything but non-alchoholic drinks etc.

but the longer we wait at the pub the less likely we will be to get up queen in time for L'rs to get home in time.

Im thinking we could just make the old albany pub the albany meetin point and spend maybe 30mins there. smoke, loo, snack whatever.

Ummm, I could come in quite a few diff bikes if I wanted to I'm sure but city riding ain't really my scene and anything bigger than an FXR150 and it'd be too dangerous to pull wheelies or do stupid shit around town. If anyone could lend me a FXR150, I'd be in for the whole thing but yea..

Soooo, I am choosing to wait for you guys in Queen St and just cruise along with you lot through town on my push bike. If you were stopping for a feed in town, that would be cool cause I'd be able to catch up with everyone then. Otherwise, it's no biggie, I'll just go to a mate's place afterwards.

It's a shame that you are going up Queen St and not down it, though... I can't do any high speed wheelies as it will be all up hill for me.

Na, up to 55-60kmph is no worries. After that I really need to hold on to the bars with both hands cause the light little push bike gets a bit twitchy over bumps after that. I've done it with andrew before from New market to my house in Penrose. LOL

Cheers for offering to do it. You just have to be smooth and we'll be sweet! :) If the cops come, just say you don't know me and you didn't know someone was holding on to the back of your bike, so you won't get in trouble.

Updated Ride Description.

please read and take a copy of the maps with you. a torch isnt a silly idea.

Its going to be difficult to guide everyone so please try to learn as much as you can. I need one person at the front and one at the back. If anyone wants to volunteer to lead that would be great, we will alternate.

REMEMBER: LEAVING the BP at 8:00PM SHARP

also all definates please advise me if your not on the list on the first post. Cheers.

what time approximately would you guys reach the pizza place in brown's bay? any idea of what time we will reach the Bp in Mt. Albert at the end?

judging from my test ride which was 4:30 - 6:30 on a sunday arvo Im thinking we will be at Browns bay around 9 depending on how long we spend in albany.

you sure you dont want to meet us at the old albany pub and continue from there?

If we stop in Browns Bay I said the Brownzy so we dont have to spend to much time there. easier access carpark too.

Id like to leave earlier and if frosty cant come I might push it forward to Leaving at 7:30 if its ok with you guys

traffic on a friday night will mean we might be stuck behind cagers for ages.

re the weather: If its RAINING then its not on, if it has rained but looks to be clearing then thats fine its on. if its spitting with the intent on letting up then its on.

I'd rather no ride in rain and especially with lots of new riders riding in the dark in the wet, I dont want anyone turning over a manhole and going rubberside sideways.

First of all... Thanks for everyone's help when i fall off on these chippy stone on the rodeside.... I dont really know all of ur names/login name(Please let me know u  ) but Thanks again!!

I should've look more carefully before i try to stop at that point. Land on my thighbone which really really sore now and so as my toe at left foot....

After u guys left i rang up AA... the guy answered my call just gave me the towing company's phone number and tell me to ring them after i told him "my bike fall off" and then he saids "oh we dont do accident we only do breakdown". So i rang the towing company.... that guy sounds like just woke up by my call and suprise that i got his number especially from AA, and tell me he is not working now then gave me another 0800 number to call. And that number wasnt anwser by anyone then turn into fax...beeeeeeeeee
at that time i was wondering why i pay for AA membeship??

So i call up my cousin and try to usrjum leads to start it up but i didnt do aything good...then i rag up AA again.....This time this lady ask lots question but dint belive me that i really neds a tow o she just end a srvice car. and this guy is really nice, he try to start up the bike then found out there is some oil leaking so he decide to arrangea tow truck. At that moment someone ride towrds us and it was Mr Frosty :Punk: As soon as i saw Mr Frosty i knew i will be save by him!!! Mr Frosty, u r a life saver, i owe u one!!

Jonny - It was Nurse Draco that checked you all over...
It was her and I, that helped you get to your feet.
Garath D tried to get your bike going again with the help of a few other lads.

Glad that its now in the safe keeping of Motohaus to get it repaired.

Jonny - Take some 'Arnica' tablets that will take away the bruises, or put on some 'Arnica cream' where you are sore. You can get that stuff from a chemist or at some supermarkets.

Well the ride was all good bar for that 4x4 that I was stuck behind for ages...
Man that vehicle smokes heaps of black smoke... and it was all caught on film as well.

Trying to not loose anyone is the fun bit... especially for those that didn't know the area at all.

Hey guys it was great thinking to whoever it was that had their lights flashing to warn other road users to slow down... at the crash site.

We were greeted by heaps of KBers up the Albany pub...

Only a few of us left to head back to the city and continue on up Queen Street. Ran into Motoracer on his mountain bike and he accompanied us up the road.... we sent him on his way to a chorus of m/bike horns :woohoo:

Draco left us on the motorway to head home.
Slashwlyde left us top of Queen street.
Four of us went back to Pyrocams for sausages and drinks.

Frosty - what would we all do without you mate...
Well done.

You might not have the right codecs for it. Ask Pyrocam for a link to the one you need and then download it. Have too many on my pc to be able to tell you wich one it needs.

I got to the pub expecting 4 or 5 people.. and there were... lilke... 20 or more... and then another 15 or so arrived from the ride and WOW!

Good to nearly meet you all - sorry I didn't get the chance to trade insults with too many of you but I guess that means we need to do more beer some time...!
