I noticed quite a bit of fun being poked at the names Rythym and Heaven-Leigh on the "policing with passion" thread.
Those names arent too bad compared to others I have heard of eg Boy1, Tequila Sunrise, Woodstock, brothers Harley and Davidson etc
but I came across one the other day that really takes the cake :
Le-Le
It doesnt seem so bad eh, until you discover how its pronounced....
Ledashley

I know a lady with the surname "Ladyman".... she told me her maiden name was "Dyke".
When she got married, she decided no to hyphenate the names! Imagine being a Dyke-Ladyman

Oh. And really honestly truly, my mum when she was in hospital having me was in ward with a woman and they became life long friends as you did back then. Her surname was McCracken and they named their child Philip. (Hopefully I don't have to explain that one to anyone.) I don't remember much about him apart from playing with his toy cars when we went to visit).

Ledashley
And the parents didn't even get that right. Lee-lee should be pronounced Leehyphenlee, if the people who dreamed that name up actually knew anything.

Not weird but humourous, teacher at our school was a Mr Keen. At full school assembly, at a private christian school, they let slip his first name was Wayne. Not only that but we already knew his daughter 'Jo' quite well.
Of course we would ask the question, 'do you know Mr Keen's first name is Wayne?'. More often than not the response would be 'you must be joking', to which we'd reply 'no that's his daughter'.

I went to a high school that held onto tradition (Waitaki Boys). We had 'masters', not 'teachers'. Our Music teacher was John Bates. You can work out the rest for yourselves.

Mr Clive Lit still takes the biscuit for me. He was the spokesperson when Auckland went dark. I bet the postie has stopped chuckling by now, though.
