I need help getting my bucket done

Ive finally gotten to that stage of rigging up the throttle and clutch on my bucket racer, and its proving to be an incredibly frustrating task. This is mainly due to me having next to no tools and zero experience working with fiddly bike controls. Also a complete lack of anything resembling patience dosnt help either. Obviously a few of you guys have done this sort of work before, and I was wondering if I could con anyone into lending me a hand? I have a twin carb setup, and an oil pump to operate too, hence why its being a bit of an ass getting all this to work off a twist throttle.

Does anyone have a shed I could park my bike in for a day or two whilst we get stuck into this? I wont expect this done for free either, and I can pay in cash, booze, yard work....etc.

Hmm Im not sure If i can get rid of the pump. It has two oil lines running to the crankcase, which im thinking would supply oil to the crank bearings? Otherwise hell yeah Id be onto the premix goodness in a flash. There was a thread on here stating in better detail exactly why you cant,without modification, get rid of the oil pump on a gt125.

Back in the day when T250's and T500's were being raced the oil pump was retained but wired 1/8 - 1/4 open to give a little oil to the mains which then found its way via a slinger to the bigend. There was a small autolube tank fitted and the lines to the carbs were discarded and the lot run on pre mix, usually 20:1 Castrol R.

I dont know if the Suzuki GT125 twin has the same arrangement but if it does its a nice way to get clean oil to the bigend.

Was it not all hooked up when you got the bike? If so, just leave it standard for now.

Oh its a gt125 engine in an fzr250 3ln frame. Im having a hard time hooking up the suzuki throttle cables to the yammy twist throttle. Just pissing around with cable inners/outers and trying to cut cables shorter and re-attach those bobble bits that clip into the throttle.....gets me all frustrated!!! Clearer head this morning, might have another crack at it today.

Oil pump. Block the lines that go into the barrels, and leave it set to about 1/4 feeding the crank bearings. No cable required.

Have you not got the cable splitter thingy anymore? I can post one up but not till tomorrow.
