Found this old thread from 2005:

Is the information still correct, namely if (when?) I get pulled for something, will the fact that I'm likely to be wearing a EC22.05/Snell2010 helmet be OK or will it give the nice officer something else to get his quota up?
Thanks.:not:

The number of people on site here that have been questioned (not necessairily charged) on the safety standard rating of their helmet ... could be counted on the fingers of one hand. And still leave a few fingers free ...

Been pulled by the Five-Oh on a number of occaisions, but the only time I have ever had my helmet checked was race scrutineering.
I suspect they would have to be deperate low on quota, or you have really pissed them off, or maybe have a really scruffy helmet before they would bother.
YMMV

Mentioned it before, my Shoei was checked once but it quickly became apparent that he had no idea whet he was looking for...

Thanks gents.
I'm off back to the UK via the US to visit family so am thinking of getting a new helmet whilst I'm there - wider choice, price, etc.
I know I would run the risk of being fined in the UK if I was caught wearing a non-EC marked helmet, didn't want to run the same risk here.
Many thanks again.
