was going to go for a spin today got bike out of shed.
went inside heard a crash
poke head out door and see bike having a rest on its side..... buggar.
had a look and broke off left footpeg, left clutch lever, bent indicator mounts ,
scratched fairing and screen mounts a bit shagged.
so my day was off to a good start.
so instead of going for a ride thought i'd do some work.
go over to the shed to take tractor to runoff and bring some silage bales home, well they say things happen in threes , both the tractors had flatties.
take them off go get them fixed come back now pondering if it going to be safe to go outside ..... e-mailed the wreckers frosty mentioned the other day (takanini wreckers) so waiting to see if they can help me.
bikes a 1986 gsxr 750 if anyone knows anyone who deals in this era of bike.

Crikey mate. Tough luck.
Chances of you finding good fairings are pretty slim.
You're looking at about $600 to replace the whole set with just fairings stuff.

as for the other stuff the mirrors are dirt cheap - most places sell them for $50 a pair.
You could try F1 Engineering for the other stuff if no luck at wreckers.

Those left hand foot peg mounts can be hard to get. I got one given to me when I rebuilt the old 85. Try F1 in Cainbridge. They might know of some one that casts them. Take the bits to an engineering place or ask F1 and see what it would cost to get it welded. I had the frame welded on the 85 after I purchased it here in Hawkes Bay and it came up nice. Try Remnants for parts Call cos they do not reply to Email 07 5758358. I have found them good over the years. Bugger you have had one of them days.

Yep sure is but from memory when the foot peg gets pulled so far back on these bikes it stops in the casting before it transfers the weight to the main frame. Thus it breaks the mounts. Or that's how it was on the 85. Plenty of right hands ones around but few left hand. An no you cant modify a right.

I know how you feel...picked bike up on a Friday,Monday morning warming bike up to go to work, went inside to collect somethings, heard a crash outside, found bike resting on car with broken screen and speedo.High guttered after that so cheer up, I did when it was fixed.
