Does any one know where there is motor cycle parking in new market. I took a ride down there to day and could not see any thing unless I'm blind. haha

Do what every other dick in auckland does: whatever the fuck you want.

Park on the footpath, leave an indicator on.
Fuck everyone else.
Elsewise if you can get it on and up the escalator at the theatre, that'd be pretty boss.

in my experience aucks is pretty good for motorcycle parking, better than pre quake christisthatanaftershockchurch anyhoo

now there are no flat places to park a bike and who the hell wants to go into the city anyway.......

as far as bike friendly goes though,Singapore rules.....undercover bike parks everywhere,99% of them free, and no one cares if you park on a footpath as long as you dont block it.

Of course the underground parks are a necessity, because if left outside the sun will melt your seat and your ass will get third degree burns when you get back on it.:nya:

From memory, there's a bunch of parks on Nuffield street, somewhere around http://goo.gl/maps/2pKwj there.
Also underneath the cinema building, there's a small undercover carpark, with some spots that cars can't park: http://goo.gl/maps/F8Kpl

The Khyber Pass/Broadway carpark does have an area for motorbikes, but the last time I had a look there it was pay and display FOR motorbikes as well as cars. Not sure how they'd enforce it but the big red sign said so.

I live and work in and around newmarket.
As previously said Nuffield st and Osbourne st both have bike parking only.
Or the underground carpark in 277 has free parking. To get to it head in the mortimer pass entrance where the barriers are shortened for bikes. Then head straight across the floor your on to the far right side behind the escalator doors, you'll see a couple of other bikes parked up. Its all good to park there, I have for a year now.

Hope that helps.
Oh and while your in Newmarket stop by York St Mechanics (https://www.facebook.com/pages/York-Street-Mechanics/159105500855993) (same crowd as Shed 5) for a coffee and a nose at there quality bikes :2thumbsup

Sweet, although I think my ice cream will have melted by the time I get back to Dunedin.

That's the one I meant, are we talking the same place? There's some yellowed off areas between support pillars that I've parked on before.

If you mean just around the left of the building then I'm almost certain that we're talking about the same place.

I might go have a look later today to make sure.

You can probably get away with hiding in a corner of the 277 carpark, there're a lot of areas you can scoot into, I've always seen a couple bikes and scooters in there when I walk by every day. The gateway arms won't lift for bikes though, you can either leave via the pedestrian gate on the outside parking near Gillies or ghost a car.

A few weeks ago they put in a new bike park on Clayton St, near the intersection with Carlton Gore Rd. I've only seen at the most three scooters at any one time.
