Winter......
Finaly got annoyed enough with brake pedal on my heritage being utterly un-ergonomic to deal with it once and for all.
Took the grinder to it and cut top bit off, added length of steel to bring pedal further forward by 80 mm and down by about 70mm.
Should have done it ages ago.....

I can brake now without lifting foot of footboard.....and with leg in much more comfortable position.

While I was at it also put a 60mm bushes in fork legs to take sag out......

And changed seat for a leather Lepera seat (e-bay)

Feels like a different bike.

All I got to do now is replace drive belt .....

Feel the need for a bigger ride coming up...

Souf island?

I thought the brake pedals were adjustable?

I certainly have only ever seen what you have described, when the case is that it is poorly adjusted.

What material is the arm? What did you treat the new steel with?

I've never worked on Harleys, but was surprised to read it's not adjustable.

All the bikes I've worked on have had drum brakes at the rear, with a linkage connecting to a splined or dimpled shaft that is adjustable depending on where you connect it on the shaft.

And I'd thought a similar set up for disc brakes, but the splined shaft being directly where the lever mounts (rather than a linkage).

Harley may be crude, but are disc braked,
master cylinder directly operated by one piece brakepedal,
