Gidday guys...

Long time lurker, first time poster. Long enough to know that I already recognise some of you, from a certain online mountain biking website. Yeah, you know who you are. Old habits die hard.

Anyhoo, I'm in quite a good mood, because I just bought a motorcycle. Yay! Go me! You can read all about it here (http://motobutch.tumblr.com) if you feel the urge.

So yeah. Feelin' good. Roll on summer.

GB400s are awesome wee bikes. See if you can get a pair of Koni shocks for it, totally transforms the handling. Enjoy!

Hi Notobutch,

Just joined KiwiBiker myself earlier in the month.
The old hands here do not seem to be too bad - a bit crusty around the edges maybe

So now you got to learn how to ride it?
Going by your blog, its your first bike, and you have not ridden much.
But if I am wrong, which is not hard to do
Then join in the Wed night rides which are due to restart in a few weeks time for the summer.

Aww, cheers you guys!

Yup, not too far wrong, got to learn how to ride it now. I've done a few days with Mike Flowers for mainland motorcycle school to get the basics down, I'm a big believer in quality instruction. I'll definately be a starter for WNRs when I'm confident enough that I've got a good handle on things. I decided it's probably smarter at this stage to get someone to truck the GB up here rather than go down and ride it back. I'm fairly sure I'd be fine riding it back, but "fairly sure" leaves me a bit farked if I'm wrong.

So first question for my panel of interweb experts- what's the go with bike insurance? I haven't even rung my insurance company yet, but do most insurance company's do bikes as well as cars? Or is it better to go to a specific bike insurer?
