Hey Team,

Is there a bike grooming service available in Wellington?

After a week an a bit riding in the beautiful South Island spring rain my baby is a mess. Where I live I do not have access to a hose etc.
Even a self service wash area or covered area where I can give her a good detailed wash and polish.

Thoughts.

Buy a bucket to put some water in?

Go to a friend's place?

Last time I took mine in to Wgtn Motorcycles for a service, they washed it for free ( probably just added extra on the bill is my guess )

Are there not self service car washing places in wellington that you can use the hose there?

If your just being a lazy bum and want a professional job then most car groomers will also do bikes, just make sure they are clear that you do not want them to use a pressure washer on your bike.

I took a bike through a car wash once. Didn't get the left side as well as it got the right side though.

Or book a service with Welly Wobble cycles and make sure Pete knows yer coming.
It'll get a free one then.
Don't have a coffee though, phew nearly forgot.

Ok part environmental conditions, part flat out with a new job and fuck If I can afford to support the local economy I will ;)
It needs to go in for it's 6k service so will chat with Mr Trash

Problem is I ride my bike rain, hail or snow and occasionally in the summer too.

and shit if you think my bikes dirty you should see my Ute!!!

Full credit to TSS Lower Hutt :niceone:

Dropped the bike in for its 6k service and asked the guys to give it a good wash and darn good clean.
Mr Trash didn't miss a spot and when I picked it up was extremely impressed.
It was like a new bike, well ok it is a new bike but it was as clean as the day I picked her up.
Would highly recommend TSS to service and groom your bike.

A special thank to ChCh for allowing me to use their dirty wet muddy roads....

Don't use those self serve car wash places unless you like the idea of putting cold water on a hot engine. It's something that has never appealed to me since I learned about thermal shock.

Always a pleasure Mr S. We actually got one of the workshop boys to lick your bike clean as the steam cleaner's broken.

(shit even electrics these days can handle that... ever seen a car in the Avon with its lights still going?)
