Sprockets and chain advice?

Getting my KX500 back in condition after 3 years in the shed and very little use in that time. And I've been way out of the loop too.

Looking forward to getting out there soon as the weathers getting better soon, be nice to get back amongst it but I don't want to buy cheap shit for the sake of a few $ saved.

Need new chain and sprockets at 45 hrs , I'm of the opinion that I'd rather pay a few more bucks and have some quality that's going to go the distance and, I'm not racing any more, just riding.

Is it worth paying the extra $ for brand names like Renthal etc or ....?

Running an EK O ring chain I had fitted from new and the alloy sprockets that the bike came with as new, prefer to go with steel sprockets at this stage as I'm not into saving weight and it's plenty fast as it is ...

go x ring chain, kx500's are hard on chains, i personally prefer RK but any of the major brands are good, if you gety good steel sprockets as well they should last longer than that, keep an eye on the front and when it gets slighly hooked change it, it does 3 times the work of the rear, and when it goes it takes the rear with it,

My thoughts too, I'll probably run with an X ring RK or a DID X ring, 520 and some quality steel sprockets,

i run the same set up on my 450's when i change sprockets, sometimes go for an alloy rear but its normally for the looks,
