Just bought a RMX250s, 2000 model. Needs some maintenance, The biggest issue is I cant buy a manual for servicing, repair etc. I am an ex car mechanic that knows nothing about two strokes but keen to have a go - can anyone help me?
is there anything I should watch for, do etc on this model? Where can I find out about general maintenance on dirt bikes?
thanks in advance

Are you able to find an RM250 manual of the same year ? Don't know much about Suzukis but an RM manual may have an RMX appendage, there should'nt be much between the two models. From memory they were a great bike , if a little heavy for a 2T, my flatmate bought one new back in '90 when I was still on a drum brake TT600, now that was heavy !
Good luck

From little I know, I think that the RMX is the previous year RM with a heavier flywheel weight and a different gear ratio. Check Ebay for a manual.
Scott might give some more info.

Had a 98 RMX250S. Awesome bike!!
Motor is based on the 95 RM 250.
With mine the power valves became a little 'sticky' and did not open fully. It is the bottom part of the actuator where the problem lies, with the ball bearings getting stuck in grooves.
So if you dont think the top end is what it should be check this!
Otherwise a great bike.
1998 - 2001 250S are all the same bar the graphics.
Was always a bit of fun getting parts too due to the fact that there are a lot of different models. US etc.
Yours is the ADR model.
Enjoy!

I would be suprised if a suzuki dealer could not get you a workshop manual, either in hard copy or as a PDF,
as above, they are based on a mid 90's RM250,

It's a trail RM250, ie, softer suspension, heavy flywheel/long gearing and a small headlight. That kind of rubbish, engine wise it's an RM.
This should help

that is a much later RM250 and the engine is a fair bit different in the power valve set up which is the only technical thing on a 2 storke, if you cant find a rmx250s one, then a 1995 rm manual will be pretty close,

I think they have a different(problematic) carb as well. i remember it been a worthwhile mod to switch to the rm spec carb.
