I was a much much happier when I got my full licence!!! :niceone:
I was a very much happier chappy when I got rid of the pain in the ass GN250!!!! :motu: :scooter: :wings:
Now a very, very, very happy chappy now I have a new bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wings: :woohoo: :wings: :woohoo:

Got myself a Honda VFR800 and I absolutely love it and find it very good to ride. :niceone:

Would like to give my thanks and appreciation to the crew at TSS Red Baron (Lower Hutt) who tolerated my stupid questions and numerous test rides over the months (I’m sure that they thought I was a tyre kicker but said nothing and only too happy to help). :niceone:

The entire crew at red Baron were great especially Jimmy who I had the most dealing with. :drinknsin

Highly recommend them to anyone wanting to look for a high quality used bike or a new bike. :niceone: :wings: :ride:

Me, I am getting rid of my VFR800 and getting a VFR1200. The 800 was great but the 1200 is just superb.

...but the 750s were the BEST EVER! :innocent:

The mans certainly picked a bike with one of the best heritages ....I believe the VFR range has won "Bike of year" title more times than any other motorcycle produced! (AND best sport tourer...and best sport bike...and...:shifty:)

Pipe it - they sound mean as hell with a pipe. I've quoted this for truthfulness.

cool.

Have the 94 gen 5 classic - never regretted and cheap to run. tours, commutes, carries pot plants and dog, and nothing seems to upset them.

Your spotless garage needs a full carpet befitting the bike.

We've got same bike, '06, its brilliant for touring, very comfy two-up, and reliable as hell. BUT, anywhere near 50,000kms, take my advice, throw away the camchain tensioners, and fit manual ones. Mine dropped a camchain guide, blinded the oil pickup, and rooted the motor. I imported a used one from Oz in the end. I also ditched the rear shock, fitted an Ohlins, best money spent, and also you've got to do the $30 exhaust core job, the bike sounds so much better. Two hours with a holesaw and Dremel, job done.
Ride safe mate.

Cool ride. It lead the mid range touring class until the F800ST came along.ntres cool bikes, both of them.

Those bloody Churmans! (still "addicted" to there bearings! ;))

I actually looked at getting a 06 F800s!...great bikes, look sexy and of course have the "usual" BMW build standards (Z perfect standards!)...I just couldn't quiet stretch the budget that far. (And I really needed a "rehab" ride to replace the Guzzi to allow the shattered shoulder to heal)

But VERY happy with getting the VFR ...I always wanted one of the gen4 750s after racing a little VFR400-NC30 (Mad MAD! bikes those)

Ride safe Rastuscat

The VFR is a great bike. I enjoyed mine.

A radar detector is a good accessory because by the time the wind takes the weight off your wrists you are likely to travelling at such velocity as to attract the attention of the Polis. Nothing dangerous mind, but enough to incur additional road tax.

Imagine suzuki winning 10 out the 20 F1 championships they entered - imagine it cause it ain't happening - Honda best engine builders in the world - period !

Still the current title holders
for the most powerfully aspirated engine in the world - Honda ! not the others :motu:

Never done a full study, but over a range of street bikes for 20 years or so, Kwaka usually seem to get more kw out of every cc than others & with less weight. They have put a lot of time into developing engines for aircraft. The demand for more HP pr lb of engine weight started with the Wright brothers I believe, and it has never eased off! (Racetrack engines that have to be rebuilt every 10 hours don't figure with me.)

It's usually at that point that Kawasaki runs outta budget and just raids their parts bin to build the rest of their bike... My ZX6R had a rear shock made mostly of granite - though in fairness to Kawasaki it was probably a lightweight granite.

The top Japanese fighter pilots in WWII seemed very keen on Kawasaki engines. Most of the Zero engines were made by Mitsubishi, but a few were turned out by Kawasaki (whose major war efforts were elsewhere). The story around the Zero pilots was that if you got jumped by a US Corsair (the Whispering Death was their nickname) a Kawaski engine would bring you home even when it was riddled with 0.5 calibre machine gun bullets! The pilots would fight over the few of these engines available apparently. I don't think any of them had ever heard the name Honda at that time! FYI
