Our Printer (Epson TX110) all of a sudden, makes a strange noise when it starts to print...and then wont print.
The nosie is 'douga douga douga douga douga' (but rapidly) and vibrates.
It (the noise) is coming from the top part where the scanner is...we are trying to print a document not scan..its not old.
Any suggestons as to what it could be?

If you've powered it off and on again to reset its brains, it sounds like something has caught or jammed where it shouldn't have. Can you access the ink loading area, is the ink cartridges locked in place correctly?

ok.

look at where the power cord goes into the printer.
use your finger trace along the wall the power lead goes into, and find which of the two sides is closest to the point where the power lead goes into the printer itself, I cant remember if its the left or the right.

Once youve done that, give that side three solid belts with a closed fist.

It will do fuckall to help fix it, but youll feel better

Well, not quite noise as such, more a slight continuous tapping sound coming from the speakers, but being created by the hard drive....anyone?

Could be one of two things;
a) A bomb.
b) Rooted.

ACTUALLY continiuous? or just when the heard drive is seeking?
i'm guessing an old machine? PATA hard disk with uber-magnetic heads? weighs about 40 lbs?

either way, get an image(backup) of that disk made onto a new one, soonly, before it esplodes.

or if it IS actually continuous, then it's mobo noise jumping onto your onboard sound, buy a soundcard, (best) or live with it. plug your speakers in the BACK of PC, if they aren't already.

OR install linux.

You're being bugged my more than one agency. Failing that, check your screen, you may be being monitored.

As for your printer. Find the manual, the missus will know where and what it is and how to use it, and push the buttons it suggests for "resetting" the printer.
