it was run as part of the aussie final round, on the saturday with the vets, not sure if they way our nationals are set up weather we could fit them in (we already run 4 classes)

I think it would be cool if an event came abck like the four strokes used to be when they started, have a two stroke nationals with modern and classic classes, something more fun than serious, maybe with a marque and band at the track,

Yea noticed it was at Coolum and guessed part of that weekend.

Would be cool event to have, similar to the old 4-stroke champs held over easter weekend if I remember correctly..? Was usually in the Hawkes Bay on natural terrian tracks. Like you say Scott, have modern - 65, 85, 125, 250 & 500's, VMX classes and Enduro as well. Would be alot of racing over a weekend, would be great weekend of it.

yep it used to be easter,

it actaully started near warkworth by kiwirider, but hawkes bay took it over, after the first 3 or so years, it was more of a party with a race on the during the day, since their were no four stroke mx bikes everyone was on xr's, dr's and klx's,

alot of organsing goes into something like that, it would be cool tho,

Ain't life funny! Remember when everything was 2 stroke, and there was the occaisonal big event for four strokes? Full circle eh...

Sure is crasher remember when the had the four stroke nationals so you could give the old XR/TT/KLX/DR a chance to win.
You bringing up the SR even if its not ridden it would be nice to see a genuine factory bike.

Yeah will have to see how the ankle goes mate. Only just started load bearing now...Sept will no doubt be a lil too soon to be bashing it around though unfortunately. I'm slowly getting closer to restoring it to it's 500cc glory though... pics will follow...

Yes Scott back in the day men/racers just rode the tracks as they were , some of the GP tracks were used only once a year. There was always a full gate of 40 riders ready to do battle.
