From our esteemed leader:
Hi all we have an Enduro meeting on the 16th of this month the format will be 1 x warm up 2 x heats and then a 40 min race all in A and B two rider teams with one compulsory running lap of the club rooms in between rider swap. Sound like fun? get your team sorted now if you have no mates their might be a few with no mate show up on the day to so that's ok you can ride with them.
Fishie
I mis-read this 1st time but have asked for clarification.
If you have a friend that could be coerced into helping with lap scoring bring them along as having a few lap scorers makes the job a lot easier.
[edit] clarrification:
Yes mate teams of two A and B all in together can be 2 A or 2 B or 1 A and 1 B. Lap scoring we been a shit fight at the best of times but if we can get three lap scorers that would be good too, I have lap sheets.

You call that enduro racing? Try doing the north island series with their 30 lap races at the end of the day then doing the Auckland 2hr the next day :eek5:, thats endurance racing. This meet could be a nice little warm up for the guys coming up in November.

Didn't notice him on the wagon last Saturday. And he resoundingly kicked me into touch last time we raced. Any chance you could cripple him for me a week beefore the NI rounds if he starts looking fit Rich? If he beats me again I'm not sure I could live with the shame.

30 lap races, so like 15min?
you don't know the meaning of endurance racing. We used to come up & do the Auckland 2 hrs back in the day, I remember the first time;
starting friday afternoon, up to Palmy & pick up the rest of the crew. 6 people in a van & a trailer with 2 bikes. Turangi by 11, do an engine swap in one of the race bikes (parts pickup up along the way) & bed by 1. A rousing 4hrs sleep & up at 5 & onward to Auckers to try find the track. practise feeling a little shell shocked. Then Jason & Picklet decide we're going out that night:sweatdrop.
Early morning start feeling at ones best :bash:. Race the two hour & back on the road. Unload at palmy & Home by 4am.
it gets worse. Workmate picks me up at 7, flight to chch & have to work. Then he decides we need to go out drinking. The next day. .. .
So don't talk to me about endurance racing.

Ahhh, sort of like a lonely hearts club:love:
Been thinking about this running around the clubroom lark, won't we piss off the Kart club guys & mow down some poor kid? running down those steps in boots may be asking for a few head injuries.
Maybe just up the hill will be funny enough. Whatever happened to taking helmet & boots off & changing the sparkplug?:nya:

They aint really closed.... We went there last night. They basically took all the good stuff and its down to a bare place. No decent food/no heaters outside, crappy seats etc etc different staff as well... They reckoned that they would be fully up and running next week. I doubt its going to be as good... Bleak outlook :(.

Waste of a good steak though. To be honest I shouldn't have been that wiped out, due more to the fact that I'd had a long day driving down on not nearly enough food. Three glasses of wine and a beer doesn't usually put me on my arse and in bed by 7:30.

Hahahah traction control! It might help him if he runs off the track and is on wet grass, maybe. And the best quick shifter for buckets is a push button kill switch wired to the coil. Little bike's dont care about the time gap like the the big bikes so just have a fast finger.

Hahahah traction control! It might help him if he runs off the track and is on wet grass, maybe. And the best quick shifter for buckets is a push button kill switch wired to the coil. Little bike's dont care about the time gap like the the big bikes so just have a fast finger. This sounds like an interesting idea.

I'm thinking you're being tongue in cheek Drew, but there's been moaning before about the rules etc and those who have been trying to build a good relationship with the kart club really don't need other people fucking that up for everyone else.
Thanks. :)

I must have missed the lapping.
Fish went nearly two laps down because after he finally got going, he had to pull back off and do some bar straightening. Right hand turns were a bit tough with the bar touching the tank by the looks. So to spite a stellar effort, I don't think him and Craig were in the running.

Yeah it was a good day, I was impressed with Tex in the last A race, he was flying & won probably his first A race, well deserved, I think I only started cutting into his lead when he got tired.
Endurance racing huh? Like most endurance races they are often won & lost in the pits. Fortunately Katies Boyfriend was observing some of the antics so we'll claim a moral & probably very real victory.
I was well impressed with Katies race. She didn't get a massively good start but rode a lonely 3rd, not getting left behind by Paul(?) & Regan who were both going well quick for being on slicks. I'd told her to not get too crazy, we had an advantage of being on wets. She went to the plan, didn't fall off & ran her hump off to the gate & back before I set off for my session. This last bit was where several others either couldn't do the run or didn't wait for the runner to get back before setting off. Oooh Naughty!
Took me a while to get the feel for the wets but eventually I did & started getting faster. Then the race ended early.
Perhaps with some of the talk people don't want to admit they were served by some chick & a middle aged guy on a 50cc:nya:

What a epic weekend, I haven't laughed so much in ages!
I managed to noob it up pretty well I thought. I punted Mr Willaims off and took two others down going for a gap, which at the last moment I realised wasn't there! Then after putting it back together crashed started the bike to find the throttle stuck wide open and binned again not 1m from the first one and then to top it off screwed the race good and propper for everyone else by staying on the outside of the corner trying to sort it again! Timmay! You'd think I'd know better eh? :brick:
Although riding in the dry was good fun, I actually found the wet endurance race far more enjoyable!
So now I'm hooked on buckets!

It was two if you count the warm-up. Shame really, I was gonna tear it up in the dry.

Watching that I have worked out why Im so slow. Its because Im too lanky, old, heavy and fail to be smooth or move around alot plus I look like I dont fancy the wet or falling off. Other than that im ok.

All this speculation about the results of a race that wasn't lap scored. Judging by the smiles and 'war stories' enjoyment of motorcycle racing was the true winner on the day.
And thanks to my team mate's most awesome start coupled with my peculiar bike set up I won this mint shirt...

Everybody lined up together and started with the flag, ended with the flag. That's a race, just that no one bothered to count the laps.

Hey no doubt, I used to be fast in the wet, but I was having troubles coming to grips with how far I could push it, but she nailed the pace straight away all credit to her.

Just watched the vid & I'm confused. Only time I see me is in last min passing video bike & just getting to grips with things. Don't look that slow. Yes faffing the clutch but it was stuttering quite a bit, need to work on water proofing it a bit.
