I am currently looking at both a TE250 and a TXC250 :scooter:
Would like to get some feedback from Huskie owners new and old about the availability of parts;
and also I weigh 90kg's - would the TE250 be big enough for me.
I am newly getting back into offroad riding.

Cheers

I have a 2005 TE250 and am a svelte 101kg. The bike is more than enough for me. Had it since 2007 and never had a problem with it. Check out www.cafehusky.com for links to parts and hopups.

It depends on the husky motor, if it's the new x-light it's fast revving & light ( 2011 I think for the te250, 2012 for the txc250, but pay to check ), if it's the older motor, it's more of a tractor, slower revving and torquey with one very sweet top end, it revs to the moon ( 12,750 ) and is very linear.

Since BMW have bought husky, the parts have really improved, good prices in NZ & speed of supply.

You can get most aftermarket bits, but you might have to hunt a bit more, as a fair few places are jap/ktm. Because they are magura/brembo or clutch/brake ( brembo/brembo for x-light ) you share with KTM for levers.

Cheers for reply.
TE250 is 2005 and TXC is 2008.
kind of like the sound of the older motor.

Mine was a 2008 txc, if it's over 100 hours, make sure the main bearings are solid, make really sure you cable tie the battery in ( the rubber band holding it in is not enough ), the other thing to check would be the rear brake line, as it comes out of the master cylinder it can rub the case if your not careful.

The txc has dual chamber forks and is lighter than the te, te is really only needed if you want to ride on the road.
