Given the nature of the man and the nature of his writing on the walls I reckon she would have to move a long way away and have a change of identity. He obviously already has something against her and he is a vindictive little prick.
That said, it is a media beat up.

"Once Macdonald is released my only choice to provide safety for my family is to move from New Zealand, away from the support of family and friends; how is this fair?

Walk away from your support?... give that fuck the chance to wear a grin of satisfaction?....hope a more sensible decision is reached come the time.

Her decision ultimately, as she rightly stated, but, sounds kinda knee jerk.

interesting that this was published BEFORE sentencing.
Now Macdonalds lawyer can have a major cry if his client gets much more than time served for the relatively minor charges he now faces.:shit:
The harold has done Kylee & her kids no favours in publishing this crap. That she has admitted trying to influence the course of justice & had that spread accross the biggest paper in the country is truly amazing. Next time she should consult with a lawyer :stupid:

I don't blame her. Having had to put up with two years of intimidation (ongoing) from family members, physical and verbal abuse included, I can understand the desire to run. As much as you picture a supportive environment for this woman, most of her family will be staying the hell away, to try and avoid any fall out and there will be an undercurrent of distrust. She has a cast to her face and a look in her eye I know well.

There is nothing to protect her from this guy when he gets out, he will have to hurt her before anyone does anything.

What a Drama Queen.

Yes its sad she has lost a husband. However to react like this has done her no favors other than to reignite a split debate that will like other infamous case go round in circles until someone coughs.

What she has effectively done is attempted to sway the Justice system, this will work in his favor at Sentencing. Further more writing to Politicians was pointless as they are not able to interfere with due process of cases before the Courts. She should put her energy into restarting her life and getting on with it.

Do people seriously think he is going to try anything...

Yes. Know the MO of the individual in question well. Have had to put up with it. Protection orders don't work. Police (sorry dude I have to say this and it's prom experience) won't step in to help until after you've been hurt, despite threats, intimidation, property damage, theft, and fraud. Family members, even estranged ones can get away with a hell of a lot of abuse for long periods of time. Heaven help the victim if they retaliate. I've been warned that I'm being watched.

There is no support for victims of family violence. No one believes you that it is as bad as it is, no one will do anything until it is too late. You'll not this chap is in prison for a bunch of stuff he did prior to and after the murder. They waited until someone was dead before they did anything concrete to protect this family.

You're wasting your energy Jim. They have zero understanding, and worse still don't want to understand, they just want the news to be over so they can get back to watching Junior Masterchef. So what if someone is unhinged enough to slaughter/maim a herd of calves with a ball pein hammer, so what if he's killed their dogs, so what if he's almost certainly shot her husband dead....no reason to worry eh?

Kylie Guy has done nothing wrong, and for people to think she has just reinforces her decision to leave. When the victim is vilified for speaking about the effects of a crime you know it's time to leave 'cos NZ will truly be a sad fucked up country.

Drama queen....?

Some people on here apparently aren't blessed with basic human feelings like compassion.........
How the fuck would you .... get over "it".....
Any idea how huge an "it" we are talking about?

How long would one have to "serve" if one would...say,accidently drive over an empty McDonald wrapper...?

Interesting that someone said Ewen MacDonald is up for relatively minor charges. Bullshit. Arson is one of the worst crimes, according to our laws. Perhaps that's reflected in the possible maximum sentence of 14 years.

He's a nutter - a vindictive nasty and dangerous one.

Yup - frankly the whole lot of them look slightly insane.... or worse enjoying the attention...

I actually think shes right, if he was free right now he would probably make a bee line to the district and do something crazy...

BUT - I really don't know if doing this is a great idea.

He's not rational, hasn't been for years, and the Guy's have been the focus of his psychotic rage for years. He has advanced Jan Brady syndrome. Scott Guy by all accounts made the huge mistake of being affable, business savvy, and not very good with his hands. Criminal offences in rural NZ.
