Been more years than I'm going to admit to since I'd been on a bike, but came to the conclusion that you're never too old, so have bought a bike and loving it. Why did marriage, kids, maturity get in the way???? Never mind, I'm here now. But finding it easier to get on the bike (and pass my license) than navigate around this site. I'm looking to meet people and hopefully join in rides, but the only place I found was regional - Canterbury riders - and no entries since 2011. So any Christchurch riders reading this, help me out here.....

Only an ex Christchurch guy here I am afraid, and I only lived there for 3 years. I always liked the city though.
Welcome to this site & don't worry about finding your away around - just blunder about and have fun!

Come and meet us on the W N R, that link F J posted.
We will not bite, and im sure that some of us longer serving regulars will be willing to ride with you, at a pace that suits you ability.
Jen, Fi and Petra are three ladies who you will enjoy meeting i am sure, great girls and will welcome you.
Looking at the 3rd Oct as being the first daylight saving wed night this summer, so pencil that in and we might see you at 6.pm outside burger king morehouse ave.
Other than that, this sunday, 9.30am, Avon City Suzuki, there is a gathering and a run to little river. Prostate cancer awareness ride.
You will be welcome on that too, dont worry that your on a 250, I will be as well.

Confused: That link has 2011 date on it?????
Annoyed: I have shared custody of kids and only free Thursday - Sunday lunchtime - so miss out on Sunday rides too!

Not too worried about keeping up. Went to Hamner a couple of weeks ago and Baby Bear did just fine. Might only be a little bike but can keep up with the big boys. hehe

We start a new thread each year. if you went to the last few pages you would see that post were made as recently as this week.
As for days availabile for you to ride, let us when you can, Im sure there will be others who can ride those days too.
AS for keeping up, na, just ride your own ride. I have found over the past 6 mths of having my 250, ( normally ride an 1100) that I just let the other riders go, and im never much more than a few minutes behind them at the destination.
You dont have to keep up, its the ride not the destination, and every wants to see everyone at the destination safe and happy.

Hmmmm, is this where I admit to receiving a speeding ticket in the mail yesterday from the trip home???? Can't afford them (gotta get some kevlar jeans for summer, cordura pants are too warm already) so will try to keep myself to a pace more suitable for the old woman that I am....
What time would the ride to Little River be back?

You can leave Little River at a time that suits your own needs.
The ride is from Avon city Suzuki to Little river, and we have Rastacat, our friendly Popo in attendance, so nobody will be speeding.

Once you get to know a few people ... rides can (and are) arranged for any time that's convenient for you all.

Keep an eye on the meetings and events forum for christchurch rides and come meet some of the local girls and boys, they'll look after you.
All of the rides are very relaxed, all we have is a starting point and a meeting point, what you do in between is up to you.
Or if you're keen join in the tagorama game, a good excuse to go for a ride when there's nothing else happening http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/100405-Tagorama
