Biggest problem I have with my blade is that it's awesome enough to make me think meh when looking at new bikes. Mind you, the HP4 has all the bells and whistles, even if I'd never use any of them
If they bring out a Repsol liveried all electronic crush everything RC212V replica blade next year, I'd consider it at the top of the list for sure.

For the same reasons I'll never part with my K2. Even though it isn't original now, it's still the bike that mags are now writing up/re-testing/comparing to. Sure they don't handle quite look a new one, but that engine is simply intoxicating. And the handling isn't that bad, not with a few dollars and setup chucked at it.

haha.. im not giving up the sidecar or swapping it... I'll just try save some pennies on the side. get an old 92 blade later on.. there should be a few left still.

Hey Eddie,
you wanted to see the new paintjob?
Ive had the fairings repaired and the whole bike resprayed satin black with a blue metallic, which unfortunately doesnt really show in pictures, but the bike looks satin black when its dark or dirty, and the blue really pops out at you under light.
Got sick of those stupid sticks on the heel gaurds, so I stripped them off and lightly sanded them to tidy them up, now they have a similair finish to the rest of the frame.
Bought some rim tape a while ago, and decided to fit that as well, so it looks pretty intense now.
Topped it off by finally fitting my plate to it, which has been gathering dust since I sold my car.

Is 99 cutting it a bit too late? No desire to trade to anything later to be honest, plenty of fun as is

Hey Eddie,
you wanted to see the new paintjob?
yea bro nice, it looks nice and straight now - yea the color def doesn't show up on the photos sadly - I recon it needs some graphics/stickers.. but I'm a sucker for having everything look original. would love to see the blue show up under light. Enjoy it! hows the cam chain etc.. all sorted? what was prob?

nah you're still good hehe ;) looks sweet. that still a 900cc (919 or something) or is it the 929.. think the creator, Tadao Baba's favourite was one of the last 900 versions.. 929 or 954.

Some pics outta old mags I got laying around
270707
Repsol 92/93 fireblade.. not my taste, these were never race bikes so not a fan.. but there it is.
270704
British pride! not bad, most of the good bits are hidden, sweet tail exhausts, 6 piston front brakes and a host of other mods, SSS etc. its a 95ish, second gen.
270705
This 96 Blade is hand painted, started life as a tigerblade but the owner didn't like it, took it back to gel coat and then painted it himself, the decals/logos etc are all painted not stickers/vinyl.
270706
Tight, lot of polish, love the exhausts.. that'll have to be my next mission. plenty of touches on this one. SSS, mirrors, heel guards all sorts.
270708
chuck a 916 duke front end on, apparently they slip right on. probably not cheap though. rest of the blade is stock bar the yoshi exhaust.
270709
turbo charged blade doing a mono.. this had some pretty gnarly power figures even by todays standards.. if you could keep the nose down it would probably eat most of todays factory offerings

Yeah that black/silver one hung on my wall for a while. I like the subtlety. The others aren't my bag, but I seem to remember that on the whole that particular round up in PB was pretty top notch.
I remember seeing a GSXR750J in an Ozzie mag, repainted in the factory scheme/colours but with higher quality paints. Very subtle and very tidy. Big fan of that one too.

Bladeophilia seems to be quite common. My mate has just got another mortgage to stick more farkles on his 05. A new Power Commander to get the most from the 2 bros pipe, new rear set's new clutch cover, carbon hugger. Oh, tires and more polishing wax too..
