Hello all

Finally after three long years of procrastination I have finally gone and achieved what I thought would be a dead end goal. By this I mean getting my 6L. The only time i have been on a motorbike was when I was young and getting my photo taken. So as you can see my basic handling test could have been the start and end of my biking career.

Don't ask why now of all times spurred me on but after a quick phone call I was booked in to recieve training prior to the skills test last saturday. With full knowledge of my inexperience, an hour and a half and a few stalls later, my amazing instructor gave me a pass. Next step was the theory. I waited all day today for my break, it was the time I decided to get my multi choice scratch on. Since when have they changed to computers! Anyway my temp licence is next to me and I'm off to whatever bike shops I can find tomorrow to maybe purchase gear/bike.

Feels good and about bloody time.

Good on you, Blindeye! I'd never been on a bike before November last year, and much like you, went for BHS for a couple of hours and hey presto, BHS cert in hand and off to get 6L. Now I've just got my Full after shaving off 3 months with a DD (defensive driving) course.

No matter what bike you're on, it's a great feeling and so different from any other mode of transport. Closest I'll ever get to flying on a jet fighter!

Watch these channels, they are invaluable and will save you some pain, embarassment and your life.
