I know that you get what you pay for and the old adage of how much your noggin is worth, however, I have recently had the opportunity to try out the new FFM Streetpro helmet. They are priced at around the $170 price bracket (at least the one I was given to try was).
Available in gloss or matt black and come with a drop down sun visor
I ususally take a large in helemts but found the XL to be a great fit, like most FFM's it is on the heavy side (1500g). The visor locks into place snugly and opens smoothly without having to fiddle around with it.
The sun visor is operated by a toggle on the rim of the helmet. It is a very solid mechanism.
There was some wind noise but I got used to that.
All in all, the new Streetpro is not too bad for its price bracket and if your ona budget. Better than the Tourpro series.

I'm looking for a helmet, something that gets lots of bang for my buck.
Do you know of any safety reviews for the FFM Streetpro? If it has good reviews then I'll consider getting one for myself

:(
what if i put a shoei sticker on the back of it?
(i've found the tourpro to be a sweet helmet, quieter than more expensive ones, i don't have a girly office-worker-type-neck, so the weight (which i think is 1400) isn't a problem. are the streetpro's more aerodynamic? are they supposed ot be a step up o just a step different?)

the only helmet i've crash tested is an HJC, mate put a shoei down (gently, as far as crashes go) lets just say i cried less about the 200$ HJC than he did about his 900$ shoei.
as long as the helmet is stickered to NZ standards (any that sold in NZ have to be "legally"?) will keep your brains in one place. by the time you're destroying an expensive helmet, you're in way over your head, so to speak.

They're new ... so I doubt if many have died ... so far ... whilst wearing one ...

It's your head ... you decide what goes on it ... and you decide your budget.
Be it on your head (excuse the pun) ... what the result could be in choosing these helmets.

If you're in Wellington, Wellington Motorcycles helmets start at $120 for full face helmets (or $130 for coloured full face helmets).

If you seriously believe this you need to do some research on the subject. Call a few of the cheaper manufacturers and ask them where/when/how they were tested.
Why not grab a good brand older style on clearance, there's some bloody good deals to be had...
edit: not aimed at ffm, I'm pretty sure they are ok....

There is an old argument somewhere about the snell rated helmets being worse than the more budget oriented dot rating ones......
Having said that I did a google search for FFM helmet and the first 2 pages are all NZ retailers. Who the f**** makes these things, some clap infested cow cocky from the wairarapa?

Bought myself a new Helmet today, HJC, @ $400.00 I thought that was cheap, nice clean fit, low wind noise @1450grms,
Glanced at the FFM helmets on the lower shelf, Been told by friends they are very noisy, the Finnish has a bit to be desired too.
Desired the Arial and Shoies on the top shelf, but income dose not allow for a 1k budget.
But as OP says, inside his budget, the price was right, inside my budget, the price was right.
Neither of us want to see our helmets hit the ground, so all good.
