Hi! Got my arm twisted in to joining Kiwi Biker. It has only taken me about 50 years of riding to get here but all seems OK so far. Hoping to be riding in another 50 years. Where is all the fun happening then? :drinknsin :drinknsin

I think we have meet before and I gave you crap about the spyder :o I shouldn't pick on those younger than me
Welcome to the site spyker, you can choose what to get involved in, politics, religion, news, bennie bashing (better watch that one as some go after those that have worked for their super), and you might even find some useful threads about bikes, racing, rides, maintenance, gear etc.

I will presume you mean pavement scooter - I am the one with one of those, but the batteries clapped out so I hung it up & ride my other bike now.
By the way, the Spyder has a fatter back tyre than any car I ever drove. Are you in to those drag strip things?? :killingme
In case you did not know, you have two guys on here now with Spyders - I think they are breeding ??

There are threads about bikes on here...?
Met a great guy who is 73 and still races his Manx Norton. He also rides his Desmocedici on the track. Doesn't look within 10 years of his age. :first:

Srs question here, what are they like to ride? I'm intrigued. I reckon it'd be quite a nice (I'm not going to say 'bike' here for fear reasons) to go on a long (ie trip round south island) ride on.
I parked my cage in front of a really nice one in Devonport on the weekend, gave it a good looking at. But didn't get too close for fear of someone jumping out at me thinking I was stealing their precious.

I waited a few minutes to see if Spyker was around - probably not.
Don't plan on arguing whether they are a bike or not - they have wheels, a motor & they are open air, so I like them. No bike at the moment, withdrawal, so Spyker & I went out for lunch yesterday on his, and I tried a new pillion intercom radio out. A really comfortable pillion machine, but I have also driven it briefly. We ride together often, and have been around a lot of the NI together.
Good points: more stable & hence probably safer than 2 wheels. Plenty of go, and they corner surprisingly well, but a good 2 wheeler can beat one. Quite good storage (compartment up forward). Very comfortable for pillion.
Can be ridden on a car licence. Very good in soft sand or similar.
Bad points: quite large to store, a bit hard on gas, still expensive, not sure about maintenance costs
Have probably missed a few things

Bad; They are a prick when parked in crowded bike parking, they shouldn't but then again I would say trikes shouldn't use bike parking. Otherwise, because you ride on them rather than in them they are a motorcycle, (I'll avoid bike because of bi being two etc). I make smart remarks because they are a soft target, what bike isn't on KB.

If i find one taking up all the remaining spaces in a bike specific park I'll be calling a tow truck.

I don't believe Spyker would use up tight bike parking space with his Spyder. When we ride together, he usually angle parks slightly within a car space, and I nestle my 2 wheeler in beside the Spyder. Bike to bike intercom is brilliant for organizing this sort of thing efficiently. The Spyder has a reverse gear for manoeuvering by the way - I wish my bike did!
We have this strange idea that we go for a ride to enjoy ourselves & each others company. We do not try to spoil anyone else's day!

So what if the Spyder was there before the bikes? and in Wellywood, they are legally MADE (bylaws) to park in bike parks.

Apart from Spyders, because they're registered as cars.
