Ask here:
http://2stroker.createforumhosting.com/
One of the guys on there is Steve Wheatman who owns essentially the Suzuki rolling museum (has a heap of RG's)
XR35 is the works bike. Are you talking more the customer RG500GP Mk6/7?
Also, drop Croz a note http://www.graemecrosby.com/ he rebuilt a Mk1 (eg XR14 copy) a while back for Grant Dalton (yes, THAT Grant Dalton).
he knows the odd thing about RG's and XR's....!
Jimmy Steadman I think still has his RGB.
Alan De Latour in the 'Naki is also good with RG's.

He has talked to Croz about it. Apparently it isn't as easy as you think to find info and parts for them, being 30 year old and all.
I will pass on the names etc, he may have talked to these people already, but I apprciate the help anyway thanks guys!

yeah, tell me about it...there's a good network for Yamaha TZ's for parts and knowledge, but less so for the Suzuki RG's.
I hear it may be ignition. Worst case, get hold of Murray DeLacy and get an HPI. They do a 4 cylinder 2 stroke version which fires off pairs together. Is a complete unit and not 30 years old. better advance curves too.

Malky's right - bite the bullet and fit a modern ignition.
Dennis Ireland is in Dunedin and in the book - worth a call on the offchance.
He's got 4 weeks to sort it...I hear Gary's given the ride on the Moriwaki to a celeb guest LOL...

pretty sure Bazza did his one up before he died. his widow (stephanie?)might know some contacts.
Failing that why not Suzuki GB direct.
there was a couple of articles in classic racer from memory, plus there is a exotic works site in GB that has all sorts of interesting stuff.
i will link it when i find it.this isn't it but similarhttp://racebikemart.com/index.php

Maido equally as long a shot :
Im restoring two Suzuki XR05 500cc factory GP bikes: a 1971 Mk1 & the Dayle Wylie 1973 Marlboro Series winning bike.
The Mk2 has a dry clutch which I am led to believe is the same as fitted to Mk1/2/3 RGB500.
Im looking for any diagrams or photos of a dissembled dry clutch that would help me please.
Both bikes have been disassembled nut & bolt & the parts mixed up...so Im unsure of what is there & what is missing let alone the order they go back together.
Honestly, any help would be appreciated - thanks Andrew

Again in this thread, Mike Sinclair is still around in ChCh. As he pretty well built the Dale Wylie bike I'm sure he could help.
Re the dry clutch. In his book Mike says that the last TR500 he built had the 6 speed box and dry clutch from a new watercooled TR500
That McCleary's had imported. As received it wasn't as fast as his aircooled one.
I remember the shop having two of those watercooled ones. Gary Boote and Stu Avant rode them.

Noel Heenan in Aussie has an XR05. https://www.facebook.com/noel.heenan.77
Could check with him.
Tom Dermody also had a TR500 rebuilt recently.
