Had the full electric system working on my bike.....now only have the front indicators, headlight and horn are working...nothing at the rear works for some unknown reason...

Checked fuse box all 5 fuses seem ok....

The bike is an 82 Katana GS550m

Cant help with the fault but if it makes you feel any better, '80s Suzukis had electrics that Joe Lucas would have been proud of.

(I'd start looking at any plugs that connect the rear of the bike - there's bound to be a bunch of them near the battery box, under the seat, behind the side covers)

Earthing fault?

Run a few wires directly to the light from the battery ... to check it which light(s) are working at the back. There should be three wires coming out of the tail light ... for .. Earth,Tail light, and brake light. If lights DO work ... it's either a connection or broken wire.

Indicators are often a single wire to the light and earthed there. A bad earth will stop the indicator working.

define 'seem OK' did you check them with a meter or a test lamp? often fuses can have a break out of sight.
do yo have a wiring diagram if so then it shouldn't be too difficult to chase the fault

I tested them by shaking and listening for rattley things.......

Have a wiring diagram but can't read it....thats like reading Chinese or something....it's too hard!
