Relay terminal designator numbers, anyone know what they represent?

85, 86, 87 etc...

without seeing your relay i would say 85 & 86 are coil, 87, 87a & 30(im quessing are you other terminals) are no nc and common.

Automotive relays are standardised and a google seach turns up all sorts of cct's for them. Sing out if its for a particular application and you get confuddled - I've mounted a few on bikes ;-)

Thanks, gents. My google-fu was on the blink but I think I've got it now.

It's just a horn relay, and just 4 terminals, so no NC option.

Well that didn't go well.

Two simple jobs: wire up the Stebel horn that's been mounted in the Buell for almost a year, and wire in the LEDs in the new handguards.

The horn's only working on one channel and the insy winsy wires feeding the LEDs prove impossible to thread through the handguards without breaking.

Grumpyasfuck.
