Hi all,
moved back to Christchurch at the beginning of this year. All good so far!
However I need to get some tricky engine work done that is a bit beyond my own ability.
Had a great BMW mechanic in Wellington, but don't know any in Chch.
Would be grateful if anybody had any leads?
Cheers

Speak to Duane at Duanes Bikes n Skis, Waterloo Rd. He might not be able to help (although probably can) but might be able to suggest someone who can.

Mechanic Mark at Hampton Honda is excellent, too. I also endorse Duane.

Yep. +1 for Roger. Don't think he's a BMW mechanic as such but he's been in the industry for years and has great skills and knowledge.

+1 to Roger, he has always given me a good price where the bike dealers would have screwed me for every cent they could.

Brought motor over to Roger yesterday and he sorted it in 10 minutes. Found him very friendly, knowledgeable and will be putting all my bike work through him from now on and recommending to others.
Thanks for the great recommendations!

Yeah, for three or so years I'd had an intermittant fault (engine cutting out) that various mechanics couldn't sort. He diagnosed it in two minutes from my description of it without even touching the bike. That just comes down to experience.

Jimmy is the best BMW mechanic in Chur Chur. Jeff Grays tried to lure him in coz theirs are not up it it. He is Motorrad trained and qualified.
Jimmy's another who knows what the problem is from your description of the symptoms. He doesn't need to charge you for guessing one thing after the next.
We'd get our work bikes done by Jimmy if we had a choice. He does our personal bikes.
He's been dicked around by the earthquakes, but he's in the VW workshop in Disraeli St.

Hi Gerard,
Would you mind plugging details for the good Wellington mechanic you mentioned?
I'll be moving later this year and a good tip'd be helpful.
Cheers.
