Found another little project.

2004 GN250 15,km

Rego on hold and no warrent.
Hasnt been used on the road for a year and not running at the moment.
Some surface rust as per usual for one thats been under a bike cover outside.

$250.00 Price is good I guess. not sure what a good runner goes for now days.
Will keep me busy for a while anyway.

You should get $1500 for a runner, they are ever popular learner bikes despite there are (IMO) far superior learner bikes (even ignoring the new LAMS possibilities) but they have the advantage of having been around forever and having a big following.

Got pics? Any idea whats wrong with it yet?

Reckon you'd get around 1k for one if it was in good nick.

Just do a skid and give it to doug, the more GNs that guy has, the higher the value of the rest of them. Though I'm not sure if that will be due to association or elimination

Just got it home at 7pm.

New petrol added and the first layer of chinese rust removed.

Battery dead. New acid and one charge. Might be lucky on the battery.

Push start resulted in a good attempt at running but I ran outa puff to try a second bump start.

Ill wait for the battery to charge and try tomorrow the easy way.

Paint is good condition and chrome looked bad but tinfoil rub and its looking 10 times better.

Hope to get a warrent in the weekend if I dont have to order a new battery.

Idd say 1k to 1.2k with warrent and rego for a quick sale or spend months trying to get 1500.
Maybe ill just dollar reserve it or try the new web sales site.

2k would need to be almost perfect.
Its a 1k to 1.2 with warrent and a couple of months rego for a quick sale.
The guy had $750 or near offer.
I offered him $250 and he took it.
I guess 250 is near 750.

??? Mine didnt come from Motormart. Its a ex Halidens bike. Your point is???
I just dont see why someone wants to link the auction up in question section to the thread.
Now ill need justify price and answer questions on the auction related to costs.

Whats worse is the person that left the comment is possibly another KB member.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=482757996 you were the under bidder by $5 so you broadcast to other people wanting parts the price it sold for, your words in red, now does it sink in? Pot Calling the Kettle black is an old saying, google it if you're still confused

And?? I still dont get what you are saying. The fact that a GS400L sold for 260 and there may be parts to rebuild the bikesdirect soon means what?

Or are you saying they are the same bike?

I stopped bidding because my bucket racer was soaking to much money. I was at work when the auction finished and didnt see the end.

http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/150518-Wanting-GS(X)400?highlight=Motormart+sold+260+tard+week+ow ner+strip+parts

Explain to me how telling someone who was after parts for a bike that there may be a bike being stripped soon is the same as linking the cost price and project thread is the same as saying there might be some parts being sold soon on this site and not on a tard me auction.
Its not really the same thing.

You blatantly broadcast the price the buyer of the GSX400L paid for the bike when you mentioned that it might be of use to someone, therefore making it difficult for them to make a quid when any possible buyer knows exactly what thebike sold for to start with.
this is all the trader has done in return on your trademe auction, think it's called karma or something like that

No. I pointed out on KB that its possible that someone bought what was advertised as a parts bike that may have been purchased to strip as the poster was after parts. I didnt go onto anyones auction and link a thread into a project build. And if I did any damage to a resale it wasnt intentional. I assumed that the buyer of the bike was possibly going to pull the bike apart.

The bike I bought was advertised as 750 or near offer and the previous owner got a 500 dollar offer also but chose to sell it to me at 250 due to the fact I was going to restore it to usable condition and resell it. Nothing sneaky about it. I spent the 20 odd hours on the bike and got it road worthy and listed it. The fact that everyone can see the bike cost 500 odd with purchace and warrent and rego doesnt worry me but the thought that someone most likely a KB member wants to attack on the auction is a little upsetting.

No issue with the price history. If that worried me I wouldnt post project info and if you look at my previous builds thread history you can see I dont try hide things. I build up a few bikes. Some even make a loss when sold and some return a dollar a hour. I enjoy working on the bikes and have even helped out some new riders with repairs on their bikes without charging anything.

The only thing that I find a bit foul is a deliberate attempt to tarnish the auction itself in the question section.
Hey if it was a cost issue I would have waited untill bidding had started before answering the question so buyers wouldnt have seen the link.

nevertheless you still included the price they paid for it. Why would one do that? especially when they were the underbidder.
Either you were trying to jeopardise them trying to turn a buck or you're stupid, you pick which it is...

Send me the wrecked one and ill make you some spares. I dont have the others or the sizes but they only take 20mins to make.

Your receiver side most likely has the negative detail worn out on a 45degree angle and will chew out the inner tabs.

Even though I dont like you if you send a self addressed envelop (prepaid) with the worn one ill do it for free.
