I was there a couple of weeks ago, Ryan informed me that they are now going back to Hampton Motorcycles, all brands better prices.

Should be a good thing as Hondas are ghey hahahaha

Watch this space.

I recently had them do some work on my Honda and have nothing but praise for the team there. Job well done. Reasonable price, too. I'd be sorry to see them go- anyone have the solid poop on what's happening there now?

hamptons are well known for changing their franchise every few years or so.

every time they get a new one/toss out the old one they are selling the next best thing to come along

business as usual for those guys.

last time I had a "chat"with Neville I got his theory of world domination, which at that time was via Yamaha and Laverda

nothing has changed,except the brands

So correct...get a franchise, squeeze the other franchisees out of ChCh so you've got an exclusive, milk it hard till you've fucked it in ChCh then change brands....Yamaha, BMW, Honda, I'd have thought the distributors would have caught on to him by now.

They will and they are good. OEM/Genuine Honda spares ex Japan in no time. And proper prices.

I rate them (I hear alotta people don't.. I bet they have never done more than walk in the showroom and ask for a price for a kawasaki part)

It's a shame Rob has left, he was a top bloke, but the other fellas still do me right. A+ for them.

So this means they dont sell OEM honda parts? or they do, but prices have just gone up since they have to get them through a Honda dealer

Craig is a great bloke, woppit was ok but unique. Graeme rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. I watched it personally when I worked there. The stories are not baseless.

*******EDITED************
Accidentally wrote Greg (who is Woppit) instead of Craig.

Reasonable price, too

Compared to what, the entire GDP of a small nation? I've been there and got burnt, and not just in terms of price.

ahh Casbolts, one of the fine family of......ummm........family bike shops in churchur

Almost a thing of the past now but when old Mr Casbolt and Mr Whiting and all the fun loving gang were about, you knew you were privileged to be able to walk in the shop, let alone buy a part.

And if the card system said it was out of stock,it was out of stock and you pointing to it on the shelf was not going to get you anywhere at all.......

those were the days....

Cute thread.

I can't say much cause I'm just a part time parts and accessories bitch.

All I'll say is Hampton Motorcycles is still around, will be for a loooong time yet.

Lots of things going on.

I'm really excited about it all!

Old Mrs Whiting was my favourite, she was still giving me student discount long after I left University. To her I still looked young then. They always had the parts I wanted and I don't remember her ever having to order them in and make me wait.

The stories are not baseless.LOL... well Graeme makes his money from property IIRC, Greg is the only one I would deal with and I always got the feeling his hands were tied, when the old man was out, very helpfull, when in well lets say I did just spend 15k on a new bike and greg wasnt alowd to give me a $11.50 can of chain spray... yip I had to pay for it
Spounge Rob, Im not suprised he moved two doors down.
This "woppit" you mention was he the dick that owned a guzzi small block thought he knew it all? I was serious about a bike I was talking about with him as he sat side saddle on it... how the fuck was I to get a decent look at it, letalone ask for a ride... monthe later brought from Greg

As for the Whiting days... yeah I remember stumbling up the back steps the echos of old like a ghost to see the old man in his overys

Hamptons... allways delt with them from the 80's Neviel then ran the adjoining pushie shop and still a good oll stick to yarn with, Robin, well a businis man through n through really makes the wrong decsision so what ever hes up to wont be a bad thing the work shop is very compertent always has been and will work on anything... the sniviling wee runt they call dave, well he jus needs fatening up

except if you had a CX500 and she insisted it was called a SHADOW and wouldnt let you have any parts for it until you told her it was.....(the australian models had shadow on the sidecovers and I assume her parts book was Australian)

ohhh dear, LOL... the 1st CX to have the 'shadow' sticker was the 1980 A , it was black, the 1st to have twin disc and had an extra 5hp with screen, from 81 all the B modles (black reversered comstar wheels) were mostely stickered shadow and in all colours, just maybe a small maybe the japs were having a dig at the vincent black shadow...
