Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has had dealings with these guys? (race evolution)
It has taken 3 months for them to turn up for the second time in newzealand. (first time they forgot to paint them)
And now they are being held in customs for me to contact customs, which i have just done and customs send me an invoice for $237.00 inc gst
i thought i was dealing with a Newzealand company which they advertise they are.
anyone know if i have any legal grounds to stand on as they arent replying to my emails or phone calls about the customs debarkle.

Here is 3 pages on them: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/138048-RaceEvolution-Any-good?highlight=Race+Evolution
They just import shitty Chinese fairings. They hold no stock in New Zealand.
Fairly sure they say somewhere on the website that you have to pay any import duty tax.

The ones I got had been marked as costing 200USD - so shouldn't have had to pay import duty on them anyway...

I would def contact customs and ask them how they came up with that number?

Ask for a full refund as this is ridiculous (if you can get hold of them ) otherwise small claims court again for this guy , it would be interesting to see if anyone else has had this issue ,im surprised it hasnt happened more often as they are importing the item which normally would need duty tax etc .. what was the cost of the package to start with ?

Send them an email and tell them they have 24hrs to give a satisfactory reply before you contact the Commerce Commission to lay a complaint.
You may also like to mention that the IRD are interested in "professional" sellers on trademe and you would be happy to point them in his direction if he continues to fuck you around.

All sorted!!!!
They have replyed and have said they will pay the customs invoice. (just a lil to late as i had already paid the invoice today as i want the bike finished so re-embursed it has to be)
Now i can finally get them on the ducati and get it on the track for the burt munro weekend & dial it in for nationals.
just hope the fairings look the part and fit.

So I see it on parts.
If you can not get them in NZ they do not charge you duty.
I orded fairings off someone which let me down so I went direct got them in two weeks also cheaper with no duty!!
