A new shop in Bulls just opened so we thought we would give it a try
What a mistake fish the size of my finger asked for two scoops be lucky if there was half a scoop there.
Wifes Chicken roll??
all I can think is that the chicken must have run through it
the hotdogs were just a breakfast sausage on a stick
when we rang to bring this rubbish back they just hung up on us
If your coming this way better to stop in Sanson!!
BE WARNED!!

The shit place by Halswell shopping centre.
About a year back I picked up the family tea, got home and the fish was not cooked and the chips over cooked. He struck me on a bad day and I took them back for a refund. He had the cheek to tell me the oil was a bit burnt thus the over cooking and 'I'll cook the fish'. Shop was full. I politely ask him if he really wanted me to display his shit product to the entire shop. I got a full refund.
Fucktard. He knew that shit was off when he served it up a wrapped it for me.

Any inland fish and chip shop in Canty - The further inland you go, the worse the fish is...
which is ridiculous as they all buy pre battered fish from the same wholesalers. It would appear they just can't cook it...
Darfield is a prime example.

Akaroa Fish n Chip shop used to be very hit and miss. Over priced and often shit. A surprise considering you can by fish caught that day off the wharf.
Never mind that chippie burnt down a number of months back .......

Nelson is the most expensive region in NZ to get fish and chips. Biggest fishing port in NZ:bash:

Increasingly over the last 20 years or so fish from chipperies has been shit. It's rotten, you can see brown streaks through it that taste like crap.
Someone in the know reckoned it was to do with the big commercial fishing outfits and how the international take affected the local market. Dunno, but it's a real shame, F&C used to be a treat but now it's too much of a lottery.

Interesting you mention this fish & chip shop. I took my family there to pick up some tea en route to Halswell Quarry last summer. They had the largest fish I've ever seen in a chip shop and me the trouble and strife both said we'd go back. I suppose it's hit and miss. I don't have a bad chippie to talk about just a bad cafe. The Paddle Crab Cafe  at Farewell Spit, un-be-lievable! If you're going up that way do yourself a favour and eat in Takaka!!!

Ok I like FUSH 'n' CHUPS so got to tell ya bout the lot down here
If your passin through Otaki and ya gots the munchies and fish and chips is the order of the day, take the time and head down toward the beach !
Skip the first asian take away on the right and go through the roundabout to the one 3 shops down on the right, next to the butcher (be alot easier if i could remember the name but hey)
Now this couple are Asian but they been in the game a while now (and have to eat it themselves)
Cut their own chips (ya don't see that much any more) and though i have had one or two badish bits of fish over the years and the burgers aint that flash, the crumb fish has to be the best i've ever had from any fish shop !
I Used to buy the fillets at twice the price but found just a basic crumb fish to be near as big and moist and fuck now i want fish and fuckin chips !

I think he's got his priorities just right...it's a subject we can all relate to - even the vegans, they have opinions about the chips.
Even if in my experience, they give the shop owners the third degree about what oil they're cooked in..

about what oil they're cooked in..
There was a chippie in Dunedin's North East Valley that used to cook their chips in olive oil.
Man, they were double plus good

Proper chips are cooked in dripping so they shouldn't have an opinion.

The last few trips I've done have been with Bluebridge but last time I got FnC on the Interislander it was fresh fillet covered in golden batter and real nice.
8.50 for one bit and a scoop was a bit pricey but...
