NSR250 carb air screw

looked up saying they should be 1-5 screwed out from stock . if l screw them in does that give it more air or less? l know some carbs do one thing and others the oppersite . as a guess l think its more air but not shore

can't believe no one has answered this, but 2 stroke carb rule of thumb is 'in for richer',

If the screw is on the inlet (airfilter) side it is adjusting air thus cutting off air makes it richer. If its after the slide it is metering more fuel in.

Hi ,
the air screw is on the air filter side of the slide . If i remember correctly too it is in for richer . BTW , if it screws out more than 2 turns then you need to change the slow jet .

so does the screw work like a bleed of releasing presher from the bowl? say when screwed out

what nsr do you have ? Depending on what you have done to the airbox/motor will determin how much air your idle circuit will need .
Sorry but i don't know how a carb works , all i know is how to screw in jets that make the bike run :(

Think of it like this; you have two straws in your mouth, one is in a glass of coke, the other just swinging in the breeze. When you suck in, you'll get a mixture of coke and air, lets say 50/50. That screw adjusts the ratio of coke to air.
