Hi Kiwi-Bikers

I am a Swiss biker on a 9 month travel around the world.
As part of this travel, I will go to Australia from end of November to mid December (will try to rent a bike there)
and to New Zealand from mid December to end of February (approximately).
For my time in NZ I did rent a Suzuki DR 650 with pickup and return in Auckland. I plan to ride on the northern and the southern island,
but do not have any fix plans.

Right now, I am in Kuala Lumpur and I will try to get a flight to Chang Mai on Tuesday to finally find a nice place to relax, hike and bike moderately and getting into thai cooking.

During my stay in NZ, I would appreciate it very much to meet local people for a beer, a little chat or a bike ride together or stay with you, if you would offer accomodation.
Any information on good camping sites, hostels or affordable hotels and riding places not to miss would be great.
If you run a farm or ranch or ... and would need some help for some days, I would be interested to help you.

Besides motorbiking, my interests are sports, especially football (but would go to a rugby game anytime), reading, hiking (moderate though), eat and drink and music (mainly rock, indie, alternative, I like The Veils very much).

Normally, it is quite easy to find an internet cafe here in Asia, but it could take some time to answer, in case somebody should reply to this post.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Take care and kind regards
Urban

I like to drink ... so when you're passing from north to south Islands wait to book the ferry crossing until AFTER your first drink at our club, Or you may regret making that booking so early.

I hope you are not disappointed, but I guess I am not a totally tipically Swiss , and happy to invite you to a quality bottle of wine to chat about these existing and invented sterotypes.
