Just a heads up that I have seen 2 bikes pulled over by the same cop in 2 days on my way home from work about 6pm.

I was on the Upper Harbour motorway SH18 and the North Western going east when I saw a Honda 250/400 race rep pulled over yesterday and tonight it was a red Triumph Daytona.

The car was a mufti Silver Commodore and on Tuesday he went out of his way to pick out the bike from a string of similarly speeding cages. So be careful out there.

Tis why I made sure that my bike is WOF'ed and Rego'ed. That way, if I aint actually doing anything wrong then I'm not going to get a ticket...... ;)

I think a lot of people would struggle to understand that concept

Spare a thought for those who don't have that sort of money.

Heads up to those 6L and 6R folk who are going to ride LAMS bikes.

Don't think that every Popo who stops a LAMS-reliant learner or restricted rider will know their stuff about LAMS. The degree of knowledge is depending on their experience with and interest in bikes.

Instead, carry a copy of the NZTA list of approved bikes, showing your bike model, and proving that you are allowed to ride it.

Yes, the Popo should know, and it's up to them to prove it, blah blah blah. Still, it's easier to pull the list out and prove you're in the right then to have to argue about the ticket that shouldn't have been written in the first place.According to our local copper, just because you're not breaking the law, that isn't enough to stop you getting a ticket.

Unfortunately it's not, "I'm ignorant, I won't write a ticket", it's "I'm ignorant, but I'll write a ticket anyway".

I think a lot of people would struggle to understand that conceptWhat, you mean like police officers?

Then you can't afford to be riding.

I think I know the one, followed me and a few mates around last Sunday (Helensville area). No problem with that of course, as we wern't speeding, saw the uniform on and the lights on the dash. Def out hunting bikers tho, that was obvious.

... a mufti Silver Commodore...

We've met.
Pulled out of the bushes south of Wellsford, followed me 5 for about clicks, then pulled me over to let me know that apparently I've got an illegal number plate.

He's OK chap. Let me away with a roadside bodge job.
Now I just hope the "good taste" police don't see it.

What was wrong with it?
Had accidentally court on the garage door and bent a bit ?
