OK, so I had a fit of enthusiasm over the winter. This bike is an ex F3 racebike, that I bought to do trackdays on. The wiring is a bit of a dogs breakfast in that all the wiring for all the bits of bike that are no longer present are still on the bike. Decided one wet Sunday in winter to tidy it up. Four hours later the entire loom is off the bike and on my bench.

And of course, there it still sits. Looking at my weekends between here and Crimble, and now that I am busy at work again, weeknights are pretty much out, it is going to be easier to just wheel the thing into an auto sparky and say "fix it: just run the circuits it needs and make it tidy", and pay the man the money.

I feel a bit bad in that I know I could do it myself if I spent the time, but fuck it, I just want to spend the money.

You've taken the entire thing off? I personally like to wire as much as I can while still on the bike, so that I have an idea of cable lengths and positioning and in some cases adding in plugs so it's easier to wire (or disassemble the bike) at a later stage.

Then I remove it and tidy it up with heat shrink or whatever else needs doing.

So everything works, and you just want somebody to help strip out the excess unused items?

You do have the wiring diagram from the service manual right?

Two ways:

Either leave it on the bike, unwrap the looms, remove any disconnected wires/connectors and rewrap.

Or remove it from the bike (label all the connectors to make identification easier) and same as above.

Remember triplecheck everything from off the wiring diagram before you snip.

If you are not confident, buy a spare loom off ebay and attack that instead.
