As title says. If anyone lives in Auckland, preferably North Shore or close and has a M10x1 tap I can borrow for the night/day I would be eternally grateful! PM me or 021 157 1036
Why do machine/tool shops have to be closed Sunday

10 x 1 is a funny thread anyway. Let me guess, foot peg. Might have a spare in the in the box, not sure though I think Pumba may still have it. Lose track of what's out on loan at times.

I have a tap set but it's a pretty odd size indeed. Not a foot peg, guess again (I'd never have thought I'd ever be having the current problem).
Thanks

In that case no idea, tell me what you've managed to screw up and I'll have a look in the shed if I think I have it.

I thought I gave that back, defiantly got the one I broke welded up. I crashed your bike anyway.
TBH I wouldn't be surprised if it was sitting on the bench down stairs
Anyway sorry cant be of any help to the thread starter, I have no taps or dies :(

don't Repco sell them? Mt Wellington one has heaps of stuff, and I'm sure they're open in the morning.

Oh dear. Only way I can help in that case is if you borrow an engine. If you swing by and grab it we can fit it at the track. No room in the van for it I'm afraid. Or get Brian or Kamil to collect it in the morning.

I'm going to call around first thing in the morning. My experience is that anything odd sized you have no chance unless you go to an engineering supply shop or order in.
Thanks for the offer Henk! but I'm going to just attempt to find a tap and put the bike back together. Fingers crossed

If you've got a spare plug and a bit of patience you can grind a flute up the plug thread, shaped exactly like that in a tap. Ignore the hex, grind straight through it. If it's just to clean out a dirty or slightly galled thread it usually works fine, use a bit of light grease and take it a little bit at a time.

Hey man. Team workshop is just around the corner from the track and has all the worlds weird taps.
I will drop by early and see if there is one in the drawer for you.

Yea mate I just found one. Will have it at the track at 9. Not sure about reaching down into the head though, maybe a socket and extension will do it.

I have a tap if you still need one. Kelly phoned me on Saturday and I took it to the track on Sunday for you but did not know who needed it.
