Hey yall,
It seems to me that new style powercruisers like the V-Max and Daivel, are just not hitting the mark.
I mean the Night Rods and the M109R's have the Powercruiser market pretty well sumed up, but why is that?
Is it the fact that the new style powercruisers do not look the part?
or is it that they are way more expensive and have priced themselves out of the market?
I mean My ultimate dream is to own a new power cruiser and i do like the new compact style as well as the low long and sleek original styling but you just dont see any of the new ones on the road. :(
any theories?

that diavel is sexy..
I had an intruder.. and always wanted a 109 - but I think if I was to go cruiser again, it would be a victory.
The Diavel doesnt look at all cruisery to me.. it looks like it wants to bite your head off..

The Ducati thing is bloody impractical, and the V-max was too pricey and NZ didn't get a single demonstrator. Jap bike buyers don't play that game the same as Euro/Harley riders in my opinion.
M109r sells for the usual Suzuki reasons. It does what it should do well, and the price is good.
The V-rods are just Harleys that go a little bit faster. Of course they'll sell here.

Is it me or does the Daivel only look real cool in the full option Carbon top spec massive price version?

... Daivel ... massive price version? It's a Ducati, there are non massive price versions?
I'm not a fan of how it looks in any guise to tell the truth.

The Max is based on a mid 80's design that has a reputation for poor handling and general over kill,,,plus it's never been a cruiser in the Harley clone style the cruiser crowd like anyway.
The Duke is too niche in it's styling to appeal to a very large section of bikers.

I'd have the Duck if I had the money.
A friend has got the 2012 Vmax, very nice, but not for me.

The diavel will run circles around all the bikes mentioned i recon, rode with one twice.. amazing handling machines. The colour TFT screen is awesome too.
Still cant beat V-Max in a straight line though i hear.

Impractical how/for what? Mine goes/stops bloody quick, handles FAR better than any cruiser I have ridden by a HUGE margin.
I guess it is what one expects a bike to handle for different purposes.
Want to go around corner FAST? Buy a sports bike.
Want a bloody grunter with an 1198 motor....well

Agreed but apart from squids who cares about straight line eh? ;)

Impractical how/for what?I understand why a person would have one, and that it does a lot of stuff real well.
I'm not bagging it, I was offering my opinion in a thread asking for opinions on power cruisers.

Most comfortable bike I have ever ridden however I added padding to the seat...as I sat on it.
My old KTM Superduke-R has had the hardest seat I have ever owned/sat on though

Have had a decent fang on a V Max and ffs it's a genuinely fast unit with a fantastic finish.
However , I found it less than average at lower speeds and if I'm to be honest I was after some wank factor too

Oh they go like stink alright. I was just disapointed in the new one when it was released - a let down. Some of the modified versions of the old one over the years got it so much better!
