More like a resort than a race track.

So a five round series
1. Auckland, Mt Wellington, 24th November
2. Tokoroa, Tokoroa Kart Track, 15th-16th December
3. Taumarunui, Taumarunui Kart Track, 5th-6th Jan 2013
4. Back Track at Manfeild, 16th Feb
5. Te Puke, 9-10 March
Are we looking at the same format as last year i.e. three points race per meeting, 10 lap, 20 lap and 30 lap?

yes and no.
6 rounds if we include Roys Hill, Hastings which is a strong possibility over the Easter weekend.
Auckland for some reason has always been 20 laps in each direction.. only 2 races that day.
The usual other things apply.. 10 20 30 subject to the usual protests on the day. 16 per class only should do a better job separating the fast from the slow to make lapping less of an issue.

Its all good bro. You can join the Wellington Branch of Kelford racing. Should be at 90% of the rounds. You may need to tape a cam to the side of your bike.

I think the sidecar might be in order.... I'm sure Regs will be in for that...

Shit... stuck in the middle of a CAM war.. Colt (gpr) vs. Kelford...
I'm just looking forward to cracking the top of my last bottle white port.... Been saving it especially for bucket craziness...

Port oh shit. To tell the truth I was lucky my bike blew up at Tok. I was so messed up the night before I nearly puked the first time I put my lid on in the morning. Fun times.

We're going to try and drag our trike along to any NI meets where it may get a run if it's ok with the relevant kart clubs

We think we may have found some better port than the stuff we were drinking last year. Ask Koba if you want a second opinion.

We are applying for special resource consent (for the Easter at Roys Hill event) and hope to use it as an example of responsible sound levels. That way when we apply in the future we may stand a better chance.
So... not yet really. Get it while you can I say.
Will get it posted up when we have full confirmation.

Excellent, good to see the Welingtonians are keen!
Im hoping to be fit for at least the second half of the series. Manfeild is a definite, even if I have to tape the hand to the throttle.

That's a real proactive way to approach it; hopefully council staff will see the light on that one and not put their heads in the sand...
I assume then; during the other preceding meetings the noise limits are going applied strictly too ensure conformance if you guys get the resource consent...
Good effort.

Well that would be a start. I don't think Bret can really bring that sort of dosh to the team. I must say we are a hard team to race with. Andrew a 3 time champ has been dropped it seamed. Can't even get a sticker for his new bike out of the factory at the moment.

Yes we will be. From what I have heard there are still some bikes way to loud. People are very good at talking about the technicalities of exhausts on forums but that's about it. It's only gonna get worserer in the years to come if we don't act now.
Generally the Council are not against or for us, they are just responding to complaints based on the rules in the local book of how things should be done.
