Yes, it's me! I was sitting in the district council customer retention area and this guy comes up and says," are you riding the Buell?" Then he gives me the key. I had at least taken it out of the ignition! But leaving it on the seat is not really much better!

I must confess a little while ago I left my Triumph Tiger with its keys in the ignition parked on The Terrace all day. About 10 hours. Keys and bike were there at the end of the day, luckily for me!

Keys what are they? I ride an antiquated thing called a Harley and don't need keys. Proximity to alarm fob makes it go (if you can call it that) or not

what a bugger when you work on it in the garage, then jump on for a test ride, stop 20kms away then go to start it though only to realise that the fob is still on the bench

Isnt there a cell phone app that negates the fob on any new Harley? Be it yours or not?

ellipse takes the cake!
Way back in the day (early 80's) I parked the ol 400 XS Special outside the Gables at about 3.30pm. Put steering lock on, wrapped unbreakable, uncuttable cable around rear wheel and over seat. Put gear away and carried helmet and jacket into pub.
Came out at about 11.30 pm with the nice pub glass in me helmet to take it home.
Got to bike digging in pocket for keys. NOT THERE! OMG.
Panic, don't panic Mr Mannering!
Put helmet on seat of bike to have proper dig in trouser pocket, only to hear a distinct metallic clunk.
Glass had dropped from within the helmet and landed on keys still sitting on the seat right beside the bloody locked cable.
no one but me knew about this until today.
Had forgotten about it, well, Na not really, do we ever?

No, be honest would ya? You were disappointed nobody wanted to steal your ride...
We've all done questionable things at times...mine being filling my dirt bikes' tank with diesel many moons ago. But yeah, truck driver, diesel car and not been on the bike for ages...lucky the fuel tap on the XT had this convenient hose below it to drain the fuel :first:

My turn:innocent: Parked up in the ferry boarding lanes and killed the bike by putting the stand down with it in gear. Brain in nutral:blink: forgot to turn off the key didn't I. Bit later here's Mrs Berg and a mate push starting me down the vehicle lanes:doh: as the battery is now part flat and won't turn the bike over. Oh the shame:facepalm:
