Got a dual purpose bike, keen to explore Canterbury during the week or weekends ?
Post a destination you would like to checkout and we can see if others are keen too :niceone:
To increase the likelihood of someone being able to ride on that unexpected sunny day off from work etc and to one day reach the point where anyone of us can ride with someone weather permitting any day of the week, if you want to place this topic as a signature link you just need to put the closing bracket ] after [/url to look like [/url]

Very keen to come along on some weekend rides. Unfortunately busy this weekend, but hopefully next weekend be keen for some shingle. Have just had E07 rear and TKC80 front fitted to my Pegaso...and now wanting to try some shingle roads (for a start).
I will point out I'm quite new to offroad riding, so in need of building my experience and skill in non-sealed road riding.

Was short notice this weekends ride, sounds like a good tyre combination. You could check out my other signature link for tips on riding on shingle.
Long as you ride at your own pace you will be fine, can always wait for you along the route, this time of the year riders will be spread out anyway on shingle unless they like eating dust

Cheers for the PM - Just as a suggestion close-by shingle roads like between the prison and West Melton be good for you to practice on before attacking the Peninsula with the Knarly corners with drop offs.
Yep think Linton at DAS gave you sound advice for riding on shingle - look up & ahead, keep positive throttle and do everything smoothly, braking/accelerating/cornering.
