What kind of system would prevent this from happening? The only system I can think of is one that does not allow morons to breed and produce more of them. If it was money they cared about they would rob a bank or perhaps they are too stupid to realize that.

I bet their free court appointed lawyer will say "my client had an alcoholic mother, and the father a gang member who was in and out of jail while poor little Tahu was growing up. His sister was a hooker, and the brother a P dealer etc so please excuse his actions". The cunts will then get a heavily reduced sentence, and once released, they will most likely reoffend.
It's the same cunts who do the same shit over and over again, and the justice system is too pathetic to lock these animals up for long enough so they can't reoffend. I guess it's a balance between the rights of the offenders (not that they deserve rights) vs the right of members of the public to be safe.

If all they were after was the money, then a system without money COULD prevent this sort of shit from happening.@robbing a bank... coz that's much easier. I'm not excusing their fucked up actions by any means, not in the slightest, jail, release, repeat offend, shoot 'em would be my justice system... but not were money is a motive.

Asked a young arsehole why he did over an old lady that was in her 80's.
His answer? " Fuck man, old people are easy shit. They dont fight back. No sense robbing some cunt that might deal to me."
I told him he was a gutless bastard. He just laughed, " Fuck man, they already lived their lives,"
Unfortunately, there were cameras in the room. The PC brigade won again.

:eek5:....camera or not, I honestly don't think I would have had as much self control as you. (well done)
...Its quiet possible that I would have been the only one leaving the room in that situation.
I ran bars & night clubs around NZ for 14yrs...and I had to walk away due to the "youth" and there attitudes (spat at, screamed at, swung at...you name it!)...I had to leave after I nearly crippled a kid for punching a pregnant lady in the guts!, then he spat in my face for removing him.
I just snapped!...Im just a wee bloke...but that kid came close to being crippled for life! (spent 12yrs studying 3 types of martial arts)...Ive never lost control like that before, hence I had to find a new career...and Im glad I did.
ps:No..I don't do that shit anymore...too old, too slow, and too damn crippled!...walking is a challenge for me nowdays lol

No Respect.
This is the problem that we have bred into the last 3 or four generations of fine upstanding individuals, most of whom can't read nor write worth a damn and know that they are F...ed when it comes to getting anywhere in today's society, so they take the easy road.
Gee how'd that happen you ask?
Simple really,Allow the criminally inclined to breed.
take away teachers who give their all for the kids, replace them with salary earners who didn't get pulled up about their spelling, grammar, diction, appearance, attitude and or morals at school or University, who say Um all fucking day long and don't think they're doing themselves a disservice when amongst their worldly wise peers, because it only mattered that they were understood, not how they made themselves understood or heard.
Then take away School certificate, University Entrance exams and replace them with internal assessments by those same salary earners ( hello, seeing a pattern yet)
Then tell teachers that corporal punishment is a big no no cause it scars the kids.
Oh, don't forget about telling parents that they can't discipline their own children.
Add comrade Helen into the mix ( no kids of her own, easy peasy that kid raising)
Make the Police symbols of state control(thanks Helen, again) But hell don't let them actually Police anything.
Tell children how to get away with rorting the system and what their inalienable rights are under NZ's constitution. Anyone actually seen NZ's written constitution, I haven't.
Lastly of course make it illegal to not like homo's and lesbo's.Confused kids? hell no, they know it's OK, can't be confused, can they?
Shit and you wonder whats wrong?
Personal responsibility, taking care of themselves and or others simply does not feature on their radar.
Me,Me,me is what it is all about these days.
My rights.
My life.
My property, which of course can temporarily be your property, until I want it!
I'd say it's too late for many and that a simple solid brick walled room and the relatives of those they have abused, hurt, maimed or killed given free reign to do as they see fit would be a good start.
For fucks sake, "victims rights"!
Shouldn't it always have been about the victims right, to not be made one!
What good is a victims impact statement when if it's a bit harsh it's deemed not fit for court room consumption. While giving evidence do they miss out the juicy bits? C even we're doing it. They are not juicy bits, they are the relived worst nightmares of people who did nothing to anyone but became someone else s victim for their pleasure/fun and our so called media have got us thinking in terms of juicy.
Not unholy deeds of immense perversion and degradation committed on innocent people by mental retards who literally do it for the hell of it.Knowing that if they get caught they'll get a wt bus ticket over their naughty little wrists.

Not that I condone or excuse the attack on Jack - it's disgusting and I hope the fuckers are caught ...
But did you actually READ the article above ? Or did you just see the headline and react / THis was not about fluffy pillows, xbox and KFC ... These are three teenage girls ... 14 and 16 ... and they were:
"taken to Upper Hutt police station, strip-searched and placed in individual cells ahead of their court appearance, they alleged.
One of the girls had to express breast milk into a sink after being separated from her baby. They were not given toilet paper and were refused contact with their families and lawyers while in custody, they told the newspaper."
I'll bet you'd be pissed off if you were locked in a cell for 36 hours with no toilet paper ...
And separating one from a breast-feeding baby? Let alone making her express breast milk in such unsanitary conditions ...

Devils advocate, kinda.
Whilst most of that may well be true, most who can't read, write etc... don't necessarily resort to crime, neither do they necessarily to come from a household of criminals. Criminals and crime is situational. If they have what they need, they won't commit crime. (you need money to have what you want)... and in this case if these kids had had 400 bucks, they wouldn't have fucked this guy over.
As for education etc... tis what happens when there isn't enough money available to give a quality education. Back in the day education was free from birth to work. Not so any more. Does that have anything to do with it? (lack of money destroying the education system?).
Once upon a time those on a low salary could afford a relatively decent lifestyle whilst leaving 1 full time parent at home or at least be available to "watch over" the kids. (a low salary buys fuck all these days).
Telling kids what they can and can't do will inevitably have them finding out if they are within their rights to tell the tellee to go and fuck themselves. Asking them can have better results. (respect is a 2 way street, too many adults forget that).
People believing that homo's, lesbo's, those of a different colour of skin, those who are younger, those who are older, those who are cleaners, those who are doctors, those who are bankers, those who are single parents... essentially those who can be shoehorned into some convenient little box, all to devalue the effort that these people are worth in the eyes of the general public. BIG fuckin problem where respect is concerned. Being treated like shit i.e. with no respect, given your "station" in life is by no means limited to youth... but as that's how adults live, it's hardly surprising that youth mimics what it sees.
It's fucked because of the way we live. Plain and simple and utterly undeniable. Blaming personal responsibility where society absolves people of it by using laws is bound to end in tears. You can't expect squeaky clean kids given that adults make a complete total and utter fuckin mess of their future because of the society we set up for them.
Hypocrits everywhere... you're all fucked in the head blaming kids for the society adults leave for them to grow up in. I'm glad I'm nearly perfect.

Lived in Wainui for a couple of years at the end of the 80's, first time i'd seen the five kids in the back of mum/dads car in a pub carpark with fish and chips at 11pm routine.
My 6yr old daughter wound up "helping" the nuns with the stupid coconut (and some maori) kids that had parents that were too unevevolved to teach their kids our national language: ENGLISH.
Put a stop to it when I found out.
Was there on transfer, company I worked for said to the local real estate firm, find us a house in Wainui for our man to live in, so they did, right in the middle of the black zone, a house they hadn't been able to let, nice house but...... shame about the highway 61 gang house on the corner opposite us.......
After 2yrs the wife gave the ultimatum, we move back south tp civilisation, or she moves back to civilisation without me. We moved.
Wainui was a shithole then, must be fun nowadays.
Wainui cop shop was unmanned at night, nobody knew, everthing was a redirect to Lower Hutt, Wound up teaching close combat and restraint to the new cops cause they had "once were warriors"
to deal with and no training.
Fairly simple really, stop them from breeding, knock the dole on the head, stop immigration so they have to get jobs because they are available and they need the money, protect our economy, no trade deals so we rebuild manufacturing to create jobs- keep the fucktards busy during the day and watch violent crime stats drop.

If you I or anyone else has what they need we none of us would go out and bash, rob, kill to get MORE! ( what they WANT)
To me this is the fundamental difference, we all of us used to know what was right and wrong, today I seriously believe that many of today's kids literally don't because they've never seen wrongs righted and or had their parents/caregivers ( God I hate that word) properly( not beat the snot out of them) discipline, admonish or correct anyone else let alone themselves.

Shame self defence is (for all intents and purposes) illegal in NZ. Adopt the "castle doctrine", where the assumption that anyone breaking into your place is assumed to plan on doing you harm, there is no obligation to retreat, and your house is a free - fire zone, and you ARE allowed to take 12g precautions. Being partially blind, it may not have helped in this case, but I bet it would reduce repeat offending in plenty of other cases.

It's a done deal in Australia!
Exactly that, whats more, if once the Police have assessed the case, they decide there will be no charges laid, that's what happens! Crim beware!
AT Last!
We are totally behind the times here in NZ when it comes to our rights, not victims rights, that comes after something has happened to us through no fault of our own.
Before it does or more correctly if it's going to, then surely to GOD in our own homes we should be able to use maximum prejudice to evict or otherwise remove an offender!
Na, mateeee, we live in NZ, here if you slug a dirty rotten thieving low life criminal in the back of the head with your baseball bat.In your home at two in the morning with your children asleep in their beds in their now invaded home.

Aye... although these guys knew it was wrong. They knew it was a crime. They maybe even knew the guy himself. They made a stupid fucked up choice for some money, that's what really feckin irks me... so I'll not share your belief that many of today's kids don't know right from wrong (not wholly anyway). Very often these types of crimes are indicative of the state of society. Please note I’m not apologizing for these pricks or blaming society in any way shape or form BUT recent changes in the way we live are a factor.
In the past – there were more jobs for ordinary folks that didn’t require an advanced degree or even school certificate. If you were lucky you could even pick up an apprenticeship etc. Entering the workforce at 15 or 16 was not uncommon. In cases where these sad fucks had no decent male role models they would suddenly be in a work environment where they were at the bottom of the pecking order with a whole range of adults that they would normally ever associate with and were forced to interact with them.
There were reasons why the new kid got to make the tea etc (I still remember taking the orders for morning tea etc). Often you learnt a bit about respect and getting on with others even though you were not related or even liked by them. You learnt what it took to function as an adult. When I started work there were still guys working that had fought in WW2 and Korea – you were exposed to a lot of lived life experience.
These kids have probably never had a functional relationship with anyone other than family and school. If the family is dysfunctional and school gave up on them (fair enough – limited time and too many other kids) they may be 18 or so but they function worse than 14 year olds of the 1960’s and 1970’s. In some cases I’d argue that they are crippled for life and become unemployable.
Modern economics and free trade have moved these jobs offshore to places where wages are low but we are paying a terrible cost for the opportunity to purchase cheap crap. In some cases we are paying with our lives…
Now this isn’t an excuse for these wankers but rather an explanation of what may have gone wrong and the lack of empathy.

What would you do?
Righteous, no, got to be sin free and squeaky clean for that.
I would leave that decision to my 200lb rotweiller

Well put Mashman. When you're not fostering funny financial philosophies you're casting pearls that make others sound like swine. Though in this case you may be casting coals on the burning fire of righteousness.
Ahhhh if only the two could be seperated. Cause and effect n all that. I did try a wee troll, but Iz captain obvious (even though most of the troll holds huge amounts of truth, heh).
Stick around Coolz, this KB place gets to you.
I agree that mashman hits the nail right on the head sometimes. The good thing is that we don't have to think the same way or do the same things to want the exact same result.
Talking about anything is far better than sitting on your hands. Yes talk is cheap, but eventually someone is going to say OK, that looks like it'll work, lets do it!

+1 on agreing on the goal and taking various roads to getting there. Be feckin boring otherwise and we'd all be called Nigel, even the girlz. Tis a shame those who are in power deal with these sorts of problems by adding to the vast array fines and jail time, or even worse, home detention punishments that so clearly work .
I wish we could skip to that that looks like it'll work bit   and thrice .
When I were back in T UK a few years ago there was a case of a family that had been bound and gagged whilst people ransacked their house and made threats to the family etc... not content with just taking what they came for and fucking off. I believe one of the perps is in a wheelchair for life as the father broke free, had a wee tussle with the fuckers, grabbed a cricket bat, yelled out to his brother (think it was his brother), who grabbed his cricket back and off they chased the fuckers down and beat one of them within an inch of his life. They deserved it in my book (well, pretty much anwyay), but one of the brothers walked with a short sentence and the other was jailed for 2 years (the sentencing maybe wrong as I'm going on memory). If someone had threatened my family, I'd rather they didn't get to live to fulfil that threat and could probably go too far to ensure it.
Whilst agreeing with most of what you say the removal of money isn't the panacea to the ill. These fuck wits see an old fella got something they want and feel entitled to they are gona beat him up and take it. They aint got no respect and bleat on about respect, back to agreeing re right examples.
I agree. But it all but halts THE major motive for crime (and that's at both ends of the scale and in between), main reason for divorce, main reason for poverty etc... attitudes may well change (or be easier to change) given that sort of breeding ground... What's worse: an old guy getting beaten for $400 or 400 people being ripped off, losing everything?
For a change I'm in just about total agreement with you ;)

I agree totally. At least when the Railways had maintanance crews in so many small towns, The MOW were based everywhere, and the forestry industry employed so many pruning/thining gangs, there was work for a lot of people. that would never make rocket scientists.
Just getting back to these dimwits, they wont get more than maybe 5 years, allow an application for parole after 1/3rd served, and they will be out in 2 1/2 years.
Interesting comparison, In 1866, 2 persons were given 96 hours imprisonment with hard labour, for picking flowers in the Barbados cemetery ChCh.
Another youth was sentenced to 4 months at an Industrial school for " being of dispicable appearance and uncouth behaviour".
I guess public expectations of public behaviour was a bit different back then.

What I dont get is why the shitheads are always let off. They say that they wouldn't have done that if they had 400$. There is a city down south that needs rebuilding. Give them the skills to get a job,and they can earn their own coin. Carrying timber, removing silt, helping with demolition and removal of debris. Theres heaps of stuff to do. Better than letting them sit pointlessly in the cells, and paying for flights down to CC would be cheaper than hiring someone to do the same job at 80$ an hour.

Shame self defence is (for all intents and purposes) illegal in NZ.
That's crap ... If you kill someone and claim self defense ... you'd better be able to prove you had good cause ... and it has been done
You are legally allowed to defend yourself ... using sufficient force to defend yourself ... if someone is coming at you with a gun you can kill them (good chance they intend to shoot and kill you) .. if they are coming at you with a knife you can kill them (you have cause they are about to stab and kill you) ...
if they are coming at you with their bare hands you probably won't get away with killing them ... (Only if, before they attacked, you know they are a supreme black belt who can kill with their bare hands ...)
The gun shop turkey who shot the robber holding a gun was NOT prosecuted for shooting the robber .. he was prosecuted because when he was asked why he had a gun he said "self defence" .. Now that is a totally illegal reason for having a gun .. you can have a gun for sport (target - hunting) and incidentally use it to shoot the robber ... you can have a gun for a collection (and incidentally use it to shoot a robber ...) But the one reason you can not have a gun in GodZOne is for self defence.
You' thjinkl a gun shop owner would know this .. but whe the police asked "why did you have the gun there?" he said: "Self-defence ... " So - have al the guns you want for self defence .. but be aware that if you say that to a cop you are going down .. and if you do use one you'd better be able to back up why you used it .. and killing kids for tagging your fence won't cut it either (excuse the pun)

That's why I live like I do,I try not to add to the problem but I live now just like everybody else so can't really avoid it.
We are seeing a growing much larger under class simply due to how humans seem to evolve as society and where we are on the current curve.
We're not the first aye.
1973 was the best year that ever was,but the change since then has been crazy and I'm beginning to see why some old people I've known didn't fear death.
When I retire in 10 years I'll put steel shutters on my windows and keep a gun an many loud dogs handy, until then we carry on as usual an hope it doesn't happen to us.

To be fair that's a little bit fucked, unless he had the wrong licence for the weapon (was a hand gun wasn't it?)
He's a gun dealer, of course he owns a gun...
I do hope these little pricks do get dealt to though, behaving like such is purely disgusting and unacceptable

So a bunch of people all wearing a uniform wrap a person in a large mat .. roll them around in pain for a while ... and get charged with assault. Another group of people do exactly the same thing and do not get charged ... (One is a gang, the other police ... )
Can't you see, just from that small demonstration, why some of us think you are a bunch of fucktards ????

Yeah. The problem was not the licence, or the gun, or what he did with it . The problem was that when he was asked why he had that gun (the one used to shoot the robber) he said: "Self-defence." WRONG ANSWER - He convicted himself out of hsi own mouth ...

At 14, he won't have any consequences - at most a family group conference (woo - not like his feral parents will care), and he will get name suppression anyway. Probably the 18yo won't get much more, and if they are related, he will get name suppression to protect the younger scum. Anyone want to take a bet that this won't be the last time these 2 are in trouble with the law?
Let me run the country, and none of this stuff will happen more than once.
