Ok
Whats the biggest repair/maintenance bill you've had? Either in actual monetary terms or as a proportion of the bikes worth itself? Current one for me is about two thirds of the price of the bike...
Also, is this the right place for this or would it be better under general?

Err, whatever it costs to put a Sport Demon on a Spada, if you're talking about shop work.
Otherwise, my 600 owes me several thousand in parts since I flipped it. (I don't like to count)

And my own largest bill is giving me all of three dollars back from a grand, but not too bad considering that is quad carbs done right through plus valves.

My biggest is $330 getting a tyre fitted. My bike wont go to a workshop again as the last time it went in for a warranty exhaust fault, came back with the same fault and a scratched tank.

Mine is 400 for a new CDI on my old RM125.
I want to hear from the mechanics, see what's the biggest bill they have dished out?

Would that just be carb cleaning, then checking valve clearances? I would certainly hope there is more to it than that.

Was talking to my local parts girl the other day, she was doing an insurance quote for a BMW HP2, $34k before she got past the steering head....

I spent $80us getting a second hand yoshi header that cost me over 3k to get sorted by the time I purchased flatslides, had custom half pipe made and lots of dyno work. Gained a few hp and losing the exup system saved alot of weight but wasnt bargin priced header job after all that.
